Schwarzkopf Live XXL R43 Red Passion Hair Colour

I was rather reticent to buy this hair dye, not because of the brand (which I know very well and favour above many) but because I have medium brown hair that by now what with highlights and previous lighter colorations might become a weird colour and thus not be what I was looking for: I was fortunately wrong. I was a really rich, dark red after first applying that evolved to a (very) slightly lighter colour and makes beautiful reflections in the sunlight. My roots after (as I speak) some 10 washes and... 2/3 weeks(?) look great, and the main body, although previously blond/red, has a lovely dark cranberry colour.If you happen to have curly hair like me, don't worry: unlike many other products this one doesn't wear out your hair so much that it loses its curls. Huge hint to this: you don't need to discolour your hair to get the hue promoted in the box!My hair, however, needs PROPER conditioner more than ever when I colour it (more about this bellow).My advice is: follow the instructions inside the package exactly as they show for the 1st time you do the colouring (or if your roots reeeeeally show, and by that, I mean something ridiculous like 15cm or more) and for re-doing the colouring add an extra 5/10 minutes to what they say if you've got medium/dark brown hair (can't guess with black hair, sorry).Also, treat your hair to colour-treated hair care products: the professional lines (and ONLY those) from both Schwarzkopf and Kérastase are the best, for both shampoo and conditioner. Finally, if the case applies, give a shot at something for the occasional split-ends - I use the Dry Ends Serum from Avon, it works but I can't vouch much for it as it's the only one I've tried so far.

I have been using this hair colour for around a year now, and I love it!I found my hair never went as vibrant as what's shown, i like that fact. My hair was dyed darkish brown and it came up and still does a deep red, it shines bright in the light, it looks natural...as natural as red hair can. I get complimented a lot on it.It's to be put on dry, unwashed hair, you squeeze a tube into the developer and shake. There is always enough for my hair with just one bottle. My hair is thick and just upto the back bra strap...so I would say a good amount. It's not too runny either but it will stain your face if it drips down.The only bad point, but I think its just red hair dye in general and not just this one, it fades over time slightly. I have found it will fade at the ends of your hair if you straighten it quite a bit. Colour protection shampoo and conditioner has helped alot though.Go for it and go red!

There is a need but the price needs looking at.

The colour is gorgeous! I left the dye in for 30 mins and the colour was so vibrant and gorgeous. My only down side is that it still washes out loads for 3/4 washes, and after about 3 weeks the colour is rather orange, however this is to be expected with red dyes.I'm definitely buying this product again to re-dye my hair however I might leave the dye in for a little while longer in the hopes that it will be more vibrant and last a little longer :)

Schwarzkopf Live XXL R43 Red Passion is most easy to use and low on smell though there is a little amonia smell but not much. The colour is strong and lasting and in this case bright. Works well with dark brown hair. Easy to use

it arrived quickly and worked brilliantly. After reading some worrying reviews I am happy to say I had no problems. My hair is quite coarse and not in great condition but this still worked well and seemed to condition it well. Lovely colour on mid brown hair
