It does the job well ..

Used this IRWIN SPEEDBOR 1-1/2" drill bit for running wiring through studs during a remodeling project, and it worked great. The self-feeding tip pulls the bit through wood quickly without needing a lot of pressure, which makes drilling large holes much easier and faster. I’ve used it on standard framing lumber as well as some older hardwood, and it stayed sharp through multiple jobs. It clears wood chips well and doesn’t bind up nearly as much as cheaper spade bits I’ve owned before. The 6-inch length is also handy for reaching through thicker material. The build quality feels solid and durable, and the bit runs smoothly without excessive wobble. As long as you have a decent drill with enough torque, this thing really flies through wood. Definitely a quality bit worth having if you do electrical, plumbing, or general construction work.

Possuo dois kits de brocas Speedbor que vão até 1'' e 1/8 e gosto muito. Mas precisava de uma maior, e essa de 1" e 1/2 foi pura decepção. Elá não cavou nem a madeira macia pinus e nem a madeira media Cambará. Ela apenas inicia o furo e acaba espanando a rosca do fuso central que deveria puxar a broca. Para isso precisa de furadeiras com mais de 150Nm de torque. Outro ponto negativo, o encaixe não é de 1/4" mas sim de 3/8". Não recomendo essa broca.

This drill bit cuts cleanly and quickly through wood. The tip starts easily without wandering, and chips clear well during drilling. It feels durable and performs exactly as expected from Irwin. Very satisfied with the quality.

use it for running cabling faster than the hole saws

I needed to go through 2.5" of old wood in an 100 year old house. Even after severing a couple nails this did not show any damage. And does this like to cut. This is not designed for the average 1/2" pistol drill like I had to work with. If you don't have larger geared down drill motor with a big handle expect a fight.
