Q: I’m using silicone moulds and have some sugar paste, do I have to add cmc to my sugar paste I don’t see too much point? Thankyou!

When you add cmc powder to sugar paste, it will become modelling paste which is easy to use with silicone mould.

Q: how much do you use? A 'teaspoon' A 5ml spoon levelled or heaped or less? I used for the first time, and it was too hard to use. Any advice?

The amount being used depends on the sugarpaste/rolled fondant you are using and will take a little trial and error to perfect the correct requirements for your sugarpaste/rolled fondant. We would suggest that for 250g of sugarpaste/rolled fondant you begin with 1 quarter level teaspoon thoroughly mixed in, leave for an hour before using, it will continue to firm up so best used fairly instantly and not left overnight. You can add a little trex to assist in keeping it pliable.

Q: Can you use this to add rice paper onto cakes?

Yes mix small amount with icing sugar - you need far less than you think (tip of spoon to about 200 grams) Or simply affix rice paper with water

Q: Does this go out of date or can it be used for a long time?

This product has a best before date rather than a use by date.
