Exceeded my expectations
Before I or you go further, I need to highlight though that I'm not using it on a custom mega-watt speaker set. I'm using it in my toyota avensis which only has a cassette deck and a cd-player and the source used is a Sandisk Sansa Clip+.Obviously if you're opting for such a solution, you're more likely to be using your car's manufacturer-fitted player and speakers.I've had a couple of these in the past (different brand) and kinda got used to the not-so-brilliant sound quality. But this one is surprisingly good. The 3.5mm jack is gold-plated, the cable length is reasonable with the minor niggle of it not being self-retracting on a spring-loaded pully. There is an alternative which fits the bill if that's what you're after though.Highs were clear with no sibling, Lows also were nice (comparatively). I play all sorts of music from classical to jazz, to progressive metal to death/black/doom metal...All sounded quite good to my ears.I'm not faulting it for the price I paid and giving it full mark.I'm not entirely sure -however- how long it'll last, but if it dies soon,I'll update this review.Worth every penny

Fantastic sound quality
Having recently acquired a new (to me) car which has a cassette player and a CD deck, I was looking at spending £100+ on a double-height stereo, Android enabled with all the widgets and gizmos any gadget lover could dream of... Then I remembered that in a few weeks time I become a dad, so that idea went out the window. Instead, I opted to get one of these. In my 2003 Golf, this sounds amazing. Using Spotify with the "Extreme" quality downloaded tracks, it actually sounds better than my old car that had an MP3 player. The only downside to this - and it is by no means the fault of the device itself - is there's a slight mechanical whirring noise all the time, unless it's ejected from the deck. With even the quietest music playing, or once you start driving, this noise is drowned out completely. So, if you are considering throwing money at a bluetooth/USB/mp3 stereo but still have a cassette deck in your car, just get one of these. For <£6, it works perfectly!

Does what it’s meant to at a great price
With things like this there will always be very mixed reviews. I’m using this in a Z3 and it works great. My previous one from Halfords (which cost £15) lasted around 2 years so hopefully this will last too. I can’t say for longevity as I’ve only used it about 6 times so far but as far as the the product goes plug it in and play. It offers a good sound for a cassette tape even on my nearly 20 year old speakers and has good volume. It does distort a bit once you put the volume up to high but it’s best to keep your phone volume at about half or just over and then adjust volume on the car stereo. Does the job exactly as it should. I’d recommend!*UPDATE*I have since changed the case on my phone and the 3.5mm Jack now doesn’t sit flush and the sound is a little rough if it moves slightly on bumpy roads. I realise this is more he case fault rather than the product but saying that I have other headphone jacks that sit fine in said case so this jack must be slightly bulkier than normal

isn't awful, but do expect some diy needed
i recently got my first car - a 2001 toyota Yaris. Its a decent car, except i am a teenager and would much prefer AUX to tape. As such i looked for the cassette adaptor with the best / most reviews. It works well twice, if a little quiet. Then after the third time, it would constantly try and switch sides to play. obviously this shouldnt happen and is a real pain as every 2 seconds, or even back to back all i could hear was the ka-chunk as it switched sides, not my music.I googled this, and apparently its a common problem. Online said to take out a certain cog which was praised as solving it. on closer inspection this cassette player doesn't contain those cogs, likely as its not needed.fast forward 20 minutes, just before returning it i decided to take all the cogs out and see what happened. Lo and behold, it worked. So, for £5, cant complain. As a adaptor, definitely can complain.Ive given it a harsh rating as looking online, it appears to be luck of the draw if it can be fixed. However for a broke student, its a risk i'd advise, at the end of the day it has done what it said on the tin for mep.s (the cable is a little annoying, i would recommend typing it up for fear of safety hazards)

Great adapter
I use this all the time to record songs to cassette from Spotify using a tape deck which doesn't have a jack input. The quality is alright, not amazing but good enough for the medium. It lacks a bit on the bass end but easily fixed with an EQ.
