Works well on tow bar rack with heavy bikes
I got this as I had a Thule crossbar which had open ends and I didn’t feel comfortable using it with a heavy 20kg mountain bike. This is far better, although more expensive and often hard to get hold of. Sits well on the bike and no problems attaching to the bike carrier. For not I use a tow bar rack, so I don’t know how it’d be to attach a heavy bike to a hanging rack

Very useful adapter for transporting mountain bikes
This device works fine.My mountain bike has the usual silly frame with a very narrow aperture for the car transport rack forks which are too wide for the frame.The adapter is easy to fit between the handle bar and seat stems. The forks then fit easily and the bike is supported levelly rather than at a crazy angle.

Very happy with my purchase, arrived quickly and well packaged. I have a ladies bike and the Saris fits perfectly. Enables me to carry my bike on my car bike rack. Bike sits safely and securely so no worries about it falling off.

Review of Saris Frame Adaper
The challenge with this type of adapter is that a) the wide sections are necessary to get round the seat post and bar stem, but the increased width of these sections makes them awkward to fit over the rubber 'lugs' on the bike rack. Also beware that your bike may sit too low in terms of clearance from the ground ( depends on your seat height and stem length) - this can create a problem on inclines. Read manufacturers guidance/specifications ( which Amazon are not in my opinion, very good good at providing). Adapter seems robust enough and is pretty straightforward to use.

Exactly what I needed
I bought a Saris Bones ex3 rack a year ago and have not been able to use it for my dual suspension mountain bike. This adapter bar solves the problem. Easy to clamp on bike and very sturdy. Bike fits perfect on rack and is very stable, does not shake or move at all. saris products have a good reputation and the bike beam is no exception. We’ll made, great design and easy to use clamps. Glad i finally bought it.
