JINHAO 100 Fountain Pen with Ink Converter (Medium Nib 0.7mm, Gold Stone)

I collect random fountain pens and am by no means a serious collector. This pen is just effortless the way the ink flows and I am so damn happy. I used it to sketch some flowers on the first day and felt like a kid with a new toy. Not once did the pen skip and even when I capped it and picked it up hours later it flowed with no issues. Well done!

I love the pen itself and will be buying another one later that has a fine nib in it. Sadly I don’t like medium nibs so I tried using the zebra G nib in this pen. It works “mostly “. It did take using the hammer and 5/16 drill bit to flatten the nib a little and my nail drill to take the sides down some and last a heat set to finish laying the feed flat on the nib. I don’t completely have it because there is some railroading when I write to fast. I am a horrible artist as you can see from my flower. After a lot of trying the ink flows now without forcing it down but it is not perfect. The pen itself as I said, I love and plan to buy another one with a fine nib already in it. If you change the nib like I did don’t expect to get really thick lines with the pelican ink, and dip pen ink does not wet the feed properly so does not work very well since you have to keep forcing it down when the feed starves. Over all I will have fun playing with this pen in my journal but will also be buying one that I don’t Frankenpen.

Bought with medium nib.Nice feel to pen.Using a wet ink the nib still skips. Be prepared to tweak the nib a bit to improve flow.

At least, not where this model pen is concerned. There are quite knowledgeable fountain pen enthusiasts who have had positive experience with the Jinhao 100 and love it, people whose opinion I trust. So, I'm glad I went ahead and ordered this one. Easy to fill, a smooth writer (Medium nib), and the Gold Stone color is gorgeous. I plan to order at least one other in a different color. You don't have to have collected fountain pens for decades or be prepared to break the bank in order to have an elegant pen that writes well and makes you smile.

It is a beautiful pen and writes smoothly. I have nothing to complain about the pen itself. I have more than 10 Jin Hao FPs, from x159, 450 750, 992 (which blow me away) etc. All pens write very well, and well made. But I never had a medium size nib from jin hao. Their fine nibs are more MF than real fine ones. So I was very excited when I saw this with a "medium" nib. It turned out to be a fine nib, same thickness as those nibs specifically marked "F". I actually compared them side by side using same ink (Waterman Brown), and could not tell any difference. After a constant two week use, I love this pen even more. It writes great, and looks beautiful. Hope some day Jin hao will have piston or vacuum filled pens.

The pen itself is beautiful. The colors are lovely and the resin casting was done very well. However, this came with a damaged nib. I asked the company if they could replace it and received no reply so I will be returning it.

This is the third Jinhao 100 I have purchased. All of them performed flawlessly straight out of the box. One of them writes as well or better than some of the big bucks pens I own.Great pen to travel with or to buy as an affordable gift. I think I may need to buy another......

This fountain pen is so pretty and is filled with equally pretty pink ink and writes well.
