Great little product. I have it running in my house in London on my BT fibre network and can receive clear pictures on my mobile here in the Canary Islands. Crystal clear pictures on both mobile (LG G6) and home network using Telefonica Fibre. Quite a nice piece of kit, I have 4 of them checking my home isn't being wrecked or burglarised whilst I am abroad, we all know the police won't do anything for you in the UK for burglaries unless you present them with clear evidence yourself. You can record on the SDXC card in the unit or record remotely, which I do here in the Islands, and can present the police with a fair accompli. Keep one looking outside also so you can see the getaway transport and even if lucky their transport reg no. You need to buy batteries and a memory card.

Camera quality and recording good. Storage capacity you can improve to put memory card in.battery life amazing.

I have bought three of these and overall they last well, round 5 years. Eventually the battery fails or a USB connector wears out, etc and it can`t be used functionally again. So lengevity wise they are good.Poor video quality, grainy but in daylight its good enough, you can identify people or a car make / registraion provided they are close enough. It`s enough as evidence, it`s no movie camera, which is fair enough.Battery life is NO WAY what the sellers claim. Pure fiction. New, you`ll get about 6 and a half hours constant recording and about 8 and half hours on Motion Detection (which is by far the best way to catch someone through movement).My hack - I have actually coupled up the camera with a usb power pack for extended life and I got around 24 hours of Motion Detection triggered footage ( up to 12 triggers of 3 minutes per hour before battery expires 24 hours later... if you want to know!)I`m dubious about the 4 month claim of battery life because the other claims do not stand up in my testing but with a low power mode it can be a week at least, and the big if is using it in a situation where vibrations are not frequent enough to make mutiple triggers; because recording drains the battery! So potentially, maybe, reality, no.They are discreet and bullet proof but not waterproof. Can be used outdoors but not protected from rain or dew overnight. I used it outdoor overnight but wrapped it in clingfilm to protect it but would not advise it.You can downoad the App, DVR Widget easily and it installs easily. People say it doesnt work, well it does! RTFM! The App, DVR Widget allows you to program the device to various triggers; Motion Detection Voice Triggering and Vibration Detection. Custom Mode of settings including timed recordings. Its a type of calendar function where you can program the device to start triggering at a set time or between two set times. Very useful.The manual is clear on how to use it. I suggest you read it. RTFM.I`m reading reviews that state you can view your property from afar or another country but this is false, untrue. There are no data streaming possibilities at all with this DVR. It does not need batteries either.Amazon need to get a grip with these fake reviews.My 4**** becuase its bullet proof and useful nonetheless.

Didn't do the job - stopped recording after only a short time. Controls didn't appear to correlate with instructions. Very disappointing. When I contacted the Spellar they intitally ignored me and I had to ask Amazon to intervene. They did the Spellar took note and a refund was given.

This machine is a perfect way to be discreet on whatever you need to keep an eye on,it is very easy to set up and once fully charged takes no more than a couple of minutes to be up and running, very happy happy with it

Stopped working after one day tried reset but nothing worked just green to red light showing faultUsed with Mac comp and kept getting a problem when changing settings tooGeneric email linking me to problem solving from company would have thought since I sent screen shots they could reply to what I was actuall asking ref the custom setting and Mac response

Not great clarity to be honest. After the first five metres the picture goes very grainy - you'd struggle to read a number plate. Having said this - they are compact & handy to use
