Bang for the Buck
I don't normally leave reviews on Amazon, but I've gotta say these are worth it. I felt like it was a bit of a dice roll to get any "cheap" monitor stands...but at the same time - its a speaker stand - how hard can it be to make something reasonable for a few bucks? The reviews saying these were hard to build are inconceivable to me. If you can't assemble these, consider me amazed you have a use for them. If you can't assemble these or find it remotely challenging, I'd question your ability to breathe and/or think critically.Anyway - these aren't the best stands in terms of pure isolation and things that matter for a 100% true top dollar studio environment. For the bedroom recorders and 'on the side' folks these are wonderful. You can get the monitors at an appropriate height, out of the way, and in an ideal listening location. They have decent carpet spikes, although I can see the argument that they could be a bit longer and pointier. They worked fine for my carpeting. I'd imagine they'll be good for most people, either way.Once assembled, the stands are solid. I haven't noticed any vibrations, rattling, etc. Not the most isolation oriented stands, but they're 1000x better than nothing and will enable you to get proper monitor placement. 5/5 for me, considering the cost, the quality, and the improvement I've experienced.

Does what a speaker stand should do.
I can see where the parts are not of the finest materials and machining available, the threads are a bit coarse, so take care lining it up, as to not cross thread the bolts. The drilled holes on mine lined up perfectly, which is usually the problem I run across with prefab stuff. No directions, but just a little of Ikea logic can get it done. It took all of twenty minutes to assemble. I would not recommend it for anyone who requires frequent adjustments, or reassembly. It's holding a 30 pound monitor, on a carpet, at it's full extension, without using the carpet spikes and is plenty sturdy. It has pre-applied rubber pads to reduce vibration and holds the speaker, just like a speaker stand is supposed too. The biggest frill for me, was the price. I'm entirely satisfied and wouldn't hesitate to buy another.

Decent for the price, but you get what you pay for.
I have a pair of Yamaha HS80M monitors that I bought these for. I initially wanted the (much better, three-leg) BS-336, but after contacting QuikLok and confirming that they're discontinued, I went with their recommendation and bought these.Out of the box, as others have said the "instructions" are laughable but it's a couple of screws and a picture of the assembly so it's extremely simple. That said, one of the screws for the carpet spikes has some of the powercoating material on it, so it took me about 10 minutes with a light dremel to remove the PC from the threads so that I could screw the spike in.Once together, I would only recommend using them at either the lowest or second-to-lowest setting if you have 8" monitors. Even at the second lowest height (34" to the base) they are extremely wobbly on carpet and not much better on a hard surface. I mount my monitors on their sides, which helps, but at 36" with the monitor sitting in an upright position I was not comfortable at all with them (on carpet, and on a hard floor!). They are tippy, and if you have bigger heavy monitors (like the HS80M, Rokit 8, etc) it will not take much at all to send your expensive speakers to the floor if they're on these monitors.I don't know why QuikLok discontinued the BS-336, but their replacement is just so-so. If your speakers are out of the way and in a place where there's no chance they'll ever be bumped, these are fine. If they're in an area that people walk by or there's even a small chance that you might brush into them - look elsewhere.I'd have to say these are much better suited to 6" speakers and below - the fact that they bundle them with the HS80M made me buy them, but honestly I wish I'd spent a bit more on something more stable.

Sturdy, my ass
Sturdy, my ass. The welds securing the threaded piece of the pole that connects to the base broke right off as I was tightening it. Do not buy.

One piece and design change away from a good product
Put it together with the vague picture only instructions. It is missing a reliable piece of hardware for the height adjustment lock. It's one twist knob away from and threaded screw hole away from a good product. Made out of good materials just requires improvising. Could use better instructions.

What I needed for heavier speakers
This stand is just what I thought it would be. Very Sturdy. The top plate is large enough for nearly any speaker size. No complaints, it doesn't wobble, however all I have is a bookshelf speaker, nearly 15 pounds on top of it.I wanted a sturdy, adjustable height speaker stand, and I'm happy with this. The 5 height settings are just fine.A few notes.....- The included instructions are very bare, only 1 diagram. Most of it is self explanatory, however I am still unsure where the 3 washers are to be installed... Perhaps they go with the carpet spikes? This speaker stand includes both carpet spikes, and rubber feet. Also included, are 2 plastic clips, to help hold the speaker wire close to the pole.- This is for ONLY ONE STAND. When I placed an order, I didn't pay much attention, and assumed it was for 2 stands. Later, after the item had shipped, I went to the item's description and noticed it was for a single stand. Oops.A good stand, and especially useful if you have heavy speakers you want to use as surrounds in a home theatre.
