OK, So see the photo for the approx size of this item (coke can use for size comparison). The water entry can be moved from the default right-hand side to the left as there's a bung on the other side. remove the 4 screws from cover plate (it's behind the unit in photo) and loosen the plastic nut to turn valve fully anti-clockwise. The easy way of ensuring you have the best flow is to adjust, and blow through the water entry; you're aiming for less resistance. You'll require a BSP female to male Hozelock connector if you're planning on connecting to a hosepipe (Poundland do them!). Water fills to approx half-way up the unit on max setting, however, I've superglued a small nut to the red float which fills the unt near to the top as this will be used for chickens. Sturdy unit, I can't see how chickens will damage it, but you'll be best to get x 2 penny washers to attach it to a backing board or something (x 2 holes behind red float). Great product, will be buying more soon.

This product is something I'd suggest any poultry keeper must have iv tested all these products before and this one for the price and the product itself is a value for money we have tested this product with ducks something that's big enough for them to drink from/ the screw pipe end has the option to screw a hose adapter on to what's best if your using gravity water barrels its hassle free so you dont have to worry about the valve breaking as you can easily replace by taking the bolt out from the side of the unit something most and all high priced water dispensers dont do

I bought this for my dog because he is an incredibly messy drinker and likes to climb into his water bowl if it is at ground level!He has a dog flap so can nip outside to have a drink from this whenever he fancies. The drain plug is a nice feature, because the water does need emptying to prevent algae now and again.The connector on the side of it very handily fitted a standard hosepipe tap connector (1/2" BSP thread), which I then attached the hosepipe to. So it could not have been more simple to plumb in with no specialist fittings needed.My dog can now never run out of water and can't get in this as it's mounted on the wall.

The internal bore of the inlet valve doesn’t allow standard tap connection. Am a plumber of 20 years and had few options on the van none fitted. I had to bore the internal wider to fit. A flexi tap connection would work but these are not ideal for external use and I would only want rigid pipework around animals. I like the product but needs improvements made to the valve

Had to replace float valves in both of them passing poor quality
