a cookbook to live right in the kitchen, great for all vegans, macrobiotic folks, vegetarians, and omnivores alike
This book is inspiring and has given me a new lease on life as a cook. I've needed and longed for this book ever since I first practiced macrobiotics in the 1980's. This is a great overview. It covers all the main food types and seasons, and its ingredients are mainstream macrobiotics (unlike many other so-called macrobiotic cookbooks, which while interesting and lovely, sometimes include ingredients that are not for everyone). The photos are illuminating. I've tried several of the recipes so far--they are delicious, and with easy-to-follow instructions.It is organized by dish type, such as grains, soups, sauces, drinks, etc.I am keeping this right in the kitchen. It is small enough to keep handy for quick reference, and thorough enough to be the only book in the kitchen. And I think it will be easy to modify these recipes to incorporate a wide variety of vegetables and grains.

Great Macrobiotic Recipes and Beautiful Photos
Beginning a strict macrobiotic diet, I turned to this cookbook and have not been disappointed. All the recipes are delicious, some take more time than others, but all are worthwhile and give you an understanding of what it means to live and eat on macrobiotic principles. The photos, by the author, make you want to start cooking immediately! Highly recommended not only for those wishing to eat macrobiotically but vegans as well. I have bought several copies for my doctors as after a decade of blood pressure medicine, my bp is now normal after following the recommended diet.

Beautiful book, beautiful food
Love the book. Great photos of the recipes. Recipes may look elaborate but are mostly pretty simple. I'm a vegan, plant-based macrobiotic dieter, and cert. counselor, and am very happy I purchased this book.

Wonderful book, easy recipes
If you are considering trying a macrobiotic diet, this is a great book. The recipes are clearly written, easy to understand and very delicious! Highly recommend.

A fantastic book on macrobiotic food
I gave this book to a European expert in macrobiotic and she told me the book was fantastic. The recipes are delicious and the layout and pictures beautiful, which - I must admit - is rare in this field.I recommend this book to anyone interested in alternative diets.

Good cookbook
The One Peaceful World Cookbook is very informative and beneficial for anyone wanting to learn more about a plant based diet. For someone like me who doesn't know a lot regarding this kind of diet I found the book enjoyable but not really what I was looking for as far as getting started. The pictures and recipes look delicious. I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

One of my favorites
This is one of my favorite macrobiotic cookbooks. I took macrobiotic cooking classes in the 90’s and have many of the original cookbooks. This one retains the macrobiotic principles while still offering delicious, unique recipes.

So many pictures, which is rare on macrobiotic books. Lots of good information on the history and practices of macrobiotic. I love this book!

Great cook book with great recipes, tips, facts etc. Most recipes are very simple. The photos throughout are great.

Beautiful book
So pleased with the layout and photographs of the recipes. The ingredients needed are easily obtainable if you don’t already have them in the cupboard. It’s a beautiful book and one I shall enjoy using. Recommend.

Really Lovely Cookbook
I've been vegan for most of my life, and I'm a fairly good cook. But I wanted to find out more about macrobiotic eating, so on the strength of the positive reviews, I bought this book a few days ago, and haven't bothered with any of my other cookery books since then. The recipes are simple, but tasty, and are a reminder that good, fresh, wholesome food is delicious without being messed about with. The recipe for almond and nori crunch is, alone, worth the price of the book. I'm feeling satisfied but not heavy after eating, and I'm also finding I don't waste food, as leftovers from one recipe - say, fried rice - can be rolled over into another - the barley salad, for example - so I'm eating something new and different every day.
