Yes, but mask off the baby first so you don't get overspray on it.

Q: does this work on metal

Yes, it will work on metal. I used it on metal but did take two coats to cover evenly. Keep in mind that it has more of a matte finish, and not at all glossy as the can cap would have you believe.

Q: would this match chrome on roll bars pretty decent?

I agree with DSOFTRS. Automotive paint would be the best route if you want a true chrome look. However, this is something that I find hard to believe is not more commonly known...IF you use a gloss black over your primer BUT as an undercoat to a good quality chrome spray paint for crafts/projects (Krylon Premium Metallic would qualify as such)...AND you let each layer dry completely (as in totally cure)...AND if you use an automotive-quality wet/dry sandpaper (like 2000 grit) as necessary and (tip: use wet as directed!) before applying your next layer...then you will get a shiny chrome finish. This I can promise you.
