I guess I'm just lucky...
Reading the other reviews here it seems that most everyone agrees the HPS5000 sound good but suffer from poor fit/finish. I guess I'm lucky because they fit my bonce perfectly and remain perfectly comfortable for hours on end. I think a lot of the disappointment about the size/isolation of these phones stems from buyers believing they are circumaural when in fact they are closer to a supra-aural design (they sit on, not around the ear). The headband does adjust - you just bend it slightly to get the best fit. Overall construction quality looks fine to me (especially when you take the price into account). The 'one piece' headband looks cheaper than the jointed/pivoted types on other phones but has the advantage of no joints to wear/break. Sound quality is great for the price. I'm not a great believer in 'break-in' but the 5000's did seem to 'loosen up' after a few hours play (or I just got accustomed to the sound balance on offer - you decide). Like most closed back phones they do sound very slightly veiled and 'closed in' when compared to the best semi-open or open back designs but the payback is a better isolation and deeper, more natural bass. Talking about the low end, its nicely judged and by no means overpowering. Mids and highs are great - good detail and timbre. The high frequencies are especially good - beautifully extended response without any sibilance or the shrieking you often find in poorer designs. They are also easy to drive. My Nokia Lumia 520 can deliver decent sound levels without any problems and once I add in my headphone amp they go stupidly loud without distorting. I found the isolation from external noise perfectly adequate but they do leak slightly more than some closed back designs - I would be careful of choosing these if you listen at very high levels and care about disturbing nearby passengers on your daily commute. Driven by my hifi amp and listening to hi-res sources the resolution (as you would expect) increases but the overall sonic character is essentially the same. In my opinion the HP5000's are very good for the list price. When you take the discounts often on offer they are a bit of a bargain - I'm very pleased at my purchase.

Very good headphones, and a bargain!
Before I bought these, I searched the web to read other reviews to see what other people thought of them. The review's I saw were mainly not very good, and I re-call someone saying they're not worth buying. However, I think they are brilliant headphones. Everything is crisp and clear, and they give you a true sound. The only thing I can say bad about them is that there is a lead connecting the headrest to the left and right speakers, and that has now come off which at first I was worried about. But as it happens, I can adjust them more freely now! I'd definitely recommend them, very good quality headphones for a very reasonable price! The delivery was also very good and it arrived on time!

Cheap but not too nasty
Sound good. Lightweight. Cheap. However, they are built for people with narrow heads, and do not sit flat against my ears. Otherwise ok for the price.

Very uncomfortable
UPDATED: Returned phones for refund as very uncomfortable despite best efforts to adjust for better fit. Sound is good but you can’t wear headphones which don’t feel comfortable To put this review into context, these are a second pair, bought to be used when my open back Grado set are not really suitable. Typical times when I can't use my Grados are when there is a lot of background noise such as walking the dog in the park or in an otherwise busy public place. In this instance you lose all the benefit of open backed headphones and the sound is very much diluted. So initial impressions of these HPS5000 headphones by Behringer * Ridiculously cheap to buy * Look quite cheap close up but okay slightly further Sound: Very neutral Comfort/fit: Not the best however play with the fitting adjustment and it is improved. My tip: set the pads as if you have a much larger head than you do, get the pads comfy and then play with how the band sits on your head and of course tighten up if you feel this is necessary. I'm not saying that these are headphones to wear for hours at a time but I think you could certainly wear them for an hour or more once adjusted. Notes re the sound: These are monitoring headphones so they are not designed to make the music sound nice. They simply reproduce what was recorded. This means that if you are using a poor quality source or compressed music they are likely to sound naff. All my music is stored as FLAC (uncompressed) even on my mobile player and the player itself is very high quality. Whilst I haven't tried, I suspect that if you plugged these into an iphone they would sound shocking. Notes on music I listen to and which sounds good: Classical Jazz Blues Vocal House Guitar Rock Conclusions: Do not buy if * you want massive bass; the bass is there and is deep and tightly controlled but is not overblown. * you plan to wear these all day * you listen to poorly recorded/compressed music from a portable player Do buy if * you want a clean natural sound * you have a good quality source * you need a dirt cheap second pair

Not at all comfortable to wear!
I had bought the cheaper Behringer HPS 3000 (more plastic looking headphones) previously, and was hoping these would be just that little bit better, however I was sadly disappointed as the ear cups were much smaller than the others and were so uncomfortable to wear for even a short period of time! - Maybe the sound quality was better, but if they physically hurt my ears after only a short time, then they will not be my number one choice of headphones to use in my studio! - (What a shame!) - they look pretty good but are VERY tight on my head as well! - ( and I don’t have a large head!) - So if you want headphones you want to use for more than half an hour at a time, then these are NOT the ones!

Smaller than they look.
These are smaller than they look. Definitely not closed type as they will barely cover your ears. Sound OK but very tight to wear. Not comfortable. Disappointed.

Buenos cascos
Los uso como cascos de viaje para editar música y cumplen su función. Buen sonido fiable una vez los conoces. Cómodos: No aprietan mucho, algo calurosos en verano pero no demasiado, buen cable y conexión. Muy buen producto por el precio que tiene.
