Personally it doesn't bother me as it still seems pretty robust. I've seen some cheap versions that are really flimsy.You could wrap some sort of packing around the shaft where the handle fits on but I think that it would have to be metal shim, not plastic tape or anything like that.Hope this helpsAlan **Q: Is this Marge Simpson?** A: No this isn't Marj Simpson. Marj M **Q: How wide are the tines I.e. the diameter of the head.** A: I only have the hand held version - diamteter 8 cms. A very uesful garden tool, wouldn't be without it. Didn't go for the long-handled version as the head looked much the same as hand-held and thought the pressure exerted on the claw and handle might be too much for the structure. **Q: does this come with a guarantee** A: Saw a 3 year guarantee on the box / picture of it on Amazon ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A great addition to my gardening kit *by G***S on 3 June 2019* I don't know why it took me so long to order one of these. I first saw one in a garden centre many years ago and always thought that I'd get one. I ordered it yesterday and it arrived today so today was the day! I've literally had it for two hours and I already think that that it's an amazing piece of kit. I've been all over my borders and it has broken up the soil with ease leaving it looking lovely and freshly turned.It is SO much more effective than using a hoe and SO much easier than a spade. With regular use my borders are going to look fantastic and it's going to take so little effort.When it arrived I thought that I would be using it like a spade by putting my foot on it so that the prongs went all of the way in and then twisting. This approach would take an awful lot of effort - especially in clay heavy soil. Instead I've found myself pushing the prongs into the soil around three inches deep, twisting and covering a large area in such a short amount of time.It's all very easy and I would highly recommend that you purchase one.This is stating the obvious but the better the soil the easier using this tool will be. There's an area of my border which has clay and the tool is more difficult to use. On my crumbly soil it's amazingly easy.My only small gripe is that the handle grips could benefit from being upgraded as they're not very substantial. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Makes gardening a doddle *by S*** on 25 May 2024* Very sturdy manage to turn over all edging in no time.
