Thomas & Friends : Complete Series 18

Contains all 26 episodes of the eighteenth series of Thomas & Friends and what a fantastic series it is. This series introduces us to the soon-to-be-popular characters Marion, Gator, Timothy, Reg (who were officially introduced in the hour-long special Thomas & Friends: Tale of the Brave [DVD] as well as Samson.The only drawback to this Complete Series DVD is that the six episodes from this series that were featured on the Thomas & Friends: Dinos & Discoveries [DVD] are on a seperate disc which is just the old Dinos and Discoveries DVD and the episodes are still presented with bonus features and without the opening and end credits which sort of spoils it as they do not fit in with the style in which the episode on Disc 1 are presented. Such a shame because they got it right on last year's Complete Series 17 DVD.The episodes themselves are some of the most entertaining episodes in recent years and are guaranteed to keep children entertained for hours. This series also saw old favourites such as Oliver, Toad and Duncan return to the series for their first CGI-animated outings (also Toby's coach Henrietta gains a face for the first time). Joe Mills, Maggie Ollerenshaw, Tim Whitnall, Tom Stourton, Clive Mantle, Rob Wilfort and Olivia Colman (award-winning star of ITV's Broadchurch) join the cast to voice the new and returning characters.The episodes are...DISC ONE1. Old Reliable Edward - Edward proves that old engines like himself can still be useful.2. Not So Slow Coaches - Annie & Clarabel accidently get coupled to Caitlin's high-speed train.3. Flatbeds of Fear - Salty tells a spooky story which has all the engines running scared.4. Disappearing Diesels - Diesel plays a trick on Paxton, but takes it too far.5. Signals Crossed - Toby is worried about the complicated signals at Knapford Junction.6. Toad's Adventure - Toad the brakevan wants a story to tell and gets it when some trucks break away from James' train.7. Duck in the Water - Duck gets stuck in a flood and James and Rocky have to come to his rescue.8. Duck and the Slip Coaches - James steals Duck's idea of introducing Slip Coaches to the Island of Sodor, but he cannot handle them properly.9. Thomas the Quarry Engine - Thomas is sent to work at the quarry and runs into trouble with some Troublesome Trucks.10. Thomas and the Emergency Cable - Thomas develops a dislike of a passenger who pulled one of his coaches' emergency cable at the wrong time.11. Duncan the Humbug - Duncan is very grumpy around Christmas time and the engines want him to change his ways.12. Duncan and the Grumpy Passenger - Duncan tries to please a very grumpy passenger.13. Last Train for Christmas - The engines pull together to get the passengers home in time for Christmas.14. The Perfect Gift - Percy tried to find Reg the Scrapyard Crane the perfect Christmas present.15. Marion and the Pipe - Marion accidentally digs up a water pipe and tries to cover it up.16. Missing Gator - Percy misses his good friend Gator.17. No Steam Without Coal - Bill and Ben tease oil-burning engine Timothy, but when they run out of coal, they change their minds about him.18. Spencer's VIP - The engines try to impress a visiting Deputy Minister.19. Long Lost Friend - Gator returns to the Island of Sodor and Percy is very happy to have his friend back.20. Toad's Bright Idea - Toad's attitude towards a faulty lamp irritates Gator.DISC 2 - "Dinos & Discoveries"1. Marion and the Dinosuars - Marion is scared when she sees some dinosaurs coming towards her.2. Millie and the Volcano - Samson and Harvey are fooled by a model volcano after laughing at Millie for being scared of a model dinosaur.3. Timothy and the Rainbow Truck - Bill and Ben trick Timothy into looking for a multi-coloured truck.4. Samson at Your Service - Stubborn Samson makes a mistake and takes Gordon's express coaches.5. Emily Saves the World - Emily has some trouble with a giant runaway globe.6. Samson Sent for Scrap - Samson and Harvey are sent to look for scrap along the lineside, but end up collecting more than just rubbish.Disc 2 also features bonus features including: "Calling All Engines!", "Mr Perkins' Storytime", "The Earl's Quiz", "Mr Perkins' Postcards" and "Who's That Engine".The combined runtime is 260 minutes so there is a lot of fun to be had with this DVD set!

Couldn't be more happier that my favorite Complete CGI Series DVD of Thomas to come 10 days earlier yesterday from Rarewaves. With 26 amazing episodes for me to enjoy as well as the return of Duncan, Oliver and Toad in full CGI.I'm also happy that the DVD included the Dinos and Discoveries bonus disc. Its a good change for The Complete Series DVD for fans who don't have the DVD because besides the episodes, you can also enjoy bonus features such as Mr. Perkins' Storytime of the first Railway Series story, Edward and Gordon, Mr. Perkins postcards, Calling All Engines, The Earl's Quiz and Who's That Engine.

My son loves this dvd so much he watches it all the time

My boys grew up with Thomas and friends this was for my grandson ...it's timeless...and he loves it

The earlier episodes are perhaps more charming than these later animated episodes. However that is beyond our grandsons appreciation at present. Certainly buys you 15 to 20 minutes peace allowing you to get those little jobs done. Health and safety seem to be an issue on this railway, lots of crashes and accidents, but that seems to be what little boys enjoy. If your grandchildren are into trains worth getting. Not convinced that these are very gender friendly. There are however worse children s series around.
