210 Orange - Whistle

I've had an Acme dog whistle - No 211 - for my Labrador for some years. She always had a good recall to this whistle. Sadly she passed away last year. I decided to get the 210.5 for my new Cockapoo who is half Working Cocker. He also has good recall to the whistle. I bought 3, so I would never be without one! One for the rucksack, one for the dog walking coat and one to attach to my bag. I never go out without one or the other so one of the whistles is always with me. The whistles arrived promptly and I can recommend them.

This is the third orange one for my wife. VISIBILITY orange. She has an honours degree in losing them.The whistle works fine. The plastic ones are naturally cheaper but I used to like the old cow horn ones. They were pretty-well indestructible.One of the plastic ones snapped straight across the whistle vent. I superglued it back together again but it only lasted a short while after that before the mouthpiece disappeared.

I have 3 of these in different colours and different places ( lanyard, car keys, kitchen) so there is always one available in in a senior moment. Keeping the same frequency is important for consistency in training. Despite the cheap appearance all three are robust and effective. The volume is up to your level of puff. I've used quietly indoors with the puppy class melee to get him back, or full blast when he's trailing a scent in the woods completely out of sight. It is possible with these to get a swooping tone just from the way you blow.I recommend these.

I got the whistle to use with our Cocker Spaniel, to help with recall etc. when blown the whistle doesn’t sound a lot to humans but the dog was in the room when first tested and she immediately came over to me. She has since shot in to the room twice when recalling her with it from other parts of a three storey house.Can’t wait to try this out on a walk!

Good quality whistle that my dogs can always hear above any background noise. I would recommend a lanyard or string to secure it around your neck or wrist as it is quite small and could easily be lost, although the bright neon orange glow should help in locating it should this happen.

I was very pleased with this item.Most Dog whistls I have obtained you cannot hear when blown, but not omly can I hear it my dog ( a Border Collie, 1-2years old ), responded to it as soon as I blew it.

Says it is an orange 210 Acme whistle: I was sent a 210.5 - different type and sound. Taken ages to get them to supply me with a useable returns label; no apology for sending the wrong item: poor customer service and either sloppy description or sloppy picking and packing

Yes, cat's can hear a dog whistle! My 2 cats roam in a large open space behind our house, and when one gets a bit lost at night I need a way of reminding her where home is. You can't quite train a cat like you can a dog of course. This works well when the cat has wandered and you want to attract her back towards home. It is well made, reliable and cheap.
