Well worth the money, nice grip and not too heavy.
Taking on with painting the every room in my house I purchased this and Tyzack 720H-05 Spear & Jackson Telescopic Pole Sander. Using sanding blocks is find but you do this helps spread the pressure resulting in less impressions in plaster. A quick release would be great. I tend to use the hand tear sandpaper on it too which a good backing so it doesn't tear or slide around easily. It's around 245 x 85mm. For first timer DIYers I'd also recommend watching a few YouTube videos of people sanding walls and doors. It will save a lot of time fixing mistakes.

Manufacturing faults spoil an otherwise great hand sander.
I ordered two of these. They both arrived crudely wrapped in polythene sheeting hand sealed with one of those bag sealing machines and cut of at the edges with a very wavy line made by a pair of scissors i.e. neither was in its original packaging. Both of them were faulty. The first one had a small area on the base plate which was covered with scratches and gouges with a lot of sharp burrs. The second one had a bent bolt on the base plate so that the clamp could not fasten securely. This one also had dusty finger prints on the foam padding beneath the base plate and the foam padding was coming away from the base plate in one corner. These two hand sanders had obviously been returned as faulty but were now being sold to me as new items. However, perhaps against my better judgement, I decided to keep them both. I thought I could live with the first one, which after removing the sharp burrs would only have cosmetic damage. The second one I decided to repair by gently tapping the bent bolt with a rubber hammer until it was straight. This worked, so I now have two serviceable hand sanders but would still have preferred two brand new ones, especially as one was bought for a friend. I would say that the design of this hand sander is far superior to any other on the market and should normally merit five stars easily, but not the ones I received. Criticisms include that the foam padding seems to be usually glued on at an angle to the base plate and is unevenly cut and the base plate itself exhibits slight curvature at the ends. On the positive side, the new dura soft rubber covered handle gives a large and comfortable grip, the clamping mechanism securely holds the sandpaper and is easy to operate and the sander is lightweight so could be used for extended periods without tiring the user.

Would be 5 stars if the base plate was flat
Have had and still have a cheap sander but thought I would try this one for what appeared to be a better quality. The problem with it though is the base plate on 2 I purchased had a concave metal base plate which mad sanding a flat surface impossible. A shame for what should be a premium item. Returned both and now looking elsewhere.
