Breville VST071 Dura Ceramic Sandwich Press,Light Grey [Energy Class A]

I brought my Breville VST071 as the Amazon Deal of the day, at a significant reduction to the RRP (was less than the normal Breville Sandwich Press, but with the benefit of Ceramic coating on the toasting plates)I would consider myself as a complete novice when it comes to making Toasted sandwiches, having previously purchased a much cheaper sandwich toastie maker on the high street, which didn't last very long (the cheap plastic snapped)When my new Breville arrived I was very impressed with the build quality, based on looks alone this will be a much more robust and durable purchase (sometimes it pays to spend a bit more to get a better product)Well, I decided to try it out with a bit of left over Turkey from Christmas, and some strong cheddar slapped between two slices of Thick White Bread. Switched on the Breville, and let it warm up as per the instruction book.Once the machine was up to temperature (about 3-5 minutes, which was as long as it took me to prepare the sandwich ready for pressing) I popped it under the smooth ceramic plates (4 times more efficient than normal non stick coating the instruction book informed me) and gave it a few minutes.I knew it was ready, as it slid towards the front of the smooth press once it reached the optimum toastedness (is that even a word!?) Removed the toasted Sandwich using a plastic oven safe spatula (never a metal knife or Slice as it could damage the ceramic coating).The moment of truth, was the toasted Sandwich any good?No. It was way beyond good. From such simple scraps, I cobbled together something which I would honestly describe as THE best Toasted Sandwich I've ever made, and as an added bonus it's actually more healthy than a normal sandwich, as you don't use butter or sunflower spread on the bread.The only thing left was the cleaning up. Simplicity itself, as there were no ridges like a normal sandwich toaster. None of the substantial amount of cheese leaked out, and all that was required was a quick wipe down of the ceramic pads with a damp dish cloth once the toaster had cooled down sufficiently.As per the title of my review, this Breville Sandwich Toaster is guilty of some kind of witchcraft, by turning simple scraps of food into a delicious lunch.Bon appetit!

This is a fantastic product, its really easy to clean and toasts sandwiches really quickly. There are 3 heat settings but I have never needed to use the highest setting yet as the first 2 settings are more than adequate. The top plates comes with various settings to allow for large or small sandwich stacks to be catered for which is really useful.All round great product, would highly recommend.

Different from a normal grill, so do not expect the results of a grill.you can cook very tasty omelets, and for sandwich recommend falava or tortillas and they will be very good. also the bacon, the sausages. The bottom hob is very easy to clean, the quality of the material is superior without sticking products, However, I can not say the same thing about the top of the hob, which sticks and gets worse. The negative side represents, in my opinion, the qualitative fragility of the product, after one year of operation, the product burned, the resistance, but Amazon changed my old grill very quickly with a new one, but this one, after the first use presented the same problem. My conclusion, a product with which you cook very tasty and very fast food. the quality of the Amazon UK service was impeccable.

I bought this product to replace and ageing Breville sandwich toaster and really wasn't sure when it turned up with smooth plates, for soem reason I expected it to be grooved. I did debate returning it but so glad I didn't. It handles a range of sandwiches really well including big farmhouse loafs without having to trim the bread down to fit in.The real benefit is those flat plates as cleaning the product is so simple and much less mess than before - OK I may miss the triangle sandwiches but i will certainly use this a lot more than my current toaster

This healthy product was genuinely good at first and worked as it was meant to, very functional and made life easy - always looked forward to breakfast. Then suddenly it stopped working and didn't switch on just like that after a month! I couldn't believe it and thought this was a joke. I contacted the Amazon seller and had it replaced speedily with no hassle. ...THAT WAS JUST THE BEGINNING of the terrible experience with this product! You would never believe it but I am now on my 5th replacement product... YES MY 5TH REPLACEMENT PRODUCT!...1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5TH!!… I list the journey......1st stopped working suddenly after a month or two and didn't switch on - replaced by seller......2nd stopped working suddenly after a month or two and didn't switch on - replaced by BREVILLE COMPANY (seller had enough of the product I suppose and advised to use warranty!)……3rd stopped working suddenly after a month or two and didn't switch on - replaced by BREVILLE COMPANY after complaint......4th stopped working suddenly after a month or two and didn't switch on - replaced by BREVILLE COMPANY after complaint and request to improve the product quality......5th stopped working suddenly after a month or two, a few days ago and doesn't switch on - BREVILLE COMPANY FINALLY ASK TO RETURN THE PRODUCT SO THEY CAN SEE WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE PRODUCT!!!Unbelievable and astounding, really, like a joke that is so disappointing its inexplicable. Please be prepared if you purchase!(See photos with a note from my child!!!)
