Daft Punk is one of the main exponents of the popularity of electronic music that emerged during the 90's. With their unique talent and unlimited imagination, this French duo has reinvented itself multiple times since its inception and along the road has re-energized the disco and house scene. After going through an electro era, now - and via the highly successful album 'Random Access Memories' - they have immersed themselves into a 70's pop and funk sound that has led them to the peak of their popularity. In 'The Many Faces Of Daft Punk' we get into the fascinating inner world of the duo: its influence, guests artists, side projects, remixes and the music genres that they have influenced. 'The Many Faces of Daft Punk' is a unique album, essential for both fans and followers to contemporary dance music. With remastered sound and a wonderful artwork, 'The Many Faces Of Daft Punk' is an essential collection.

How could it be anything other than 5 stars; it's Genesis. Being a long time fan of Genesis it was nice to hear a different slant on some of the originals. The Ant Phillips tracks and Los Endos are are my favorites.

I don't usually bother reviewing music as we generally know what we like but I sincerely wish there was a no star option... it just about deserves 1 for the odd song on disc 2.This compilation of awfulness really shouldn't have Daft Punk's name attached to it at all. The first CD is pretty dire with some forgettable remixes with one absolute shocking crime against music; The Music Sounds Better With You massacre.... sorry, I just made myself listen to it again just to be sure it was as bad as I thought and yes, shockingly so. Maybe 3 out of the first 11 tracks are bearable and yes, that includes the Daft Punk remixes. Not their best work by a long shot.Disc 2 filled me with a little hope but what D.I.S.C.O adds to this genre I'm not sure. If Daft Punk want to call me and correct me that this was a seminal disco track which shaped their sound for years to come; I'll be more than willing to debate with them. All in all though, not a bad disc considering the horror that is disc 3.Disc 3... No, No, No, NoIf anyone is considering buying this album as some extra insight into the world of Daft Punk then I think you are barking up the wrong tree. I was fooled but I'm happy to take it on the chin if it means I can save someone else a few quid. Take a look at some of the tracks online to see if they are indeed your cup of tea. If they are, ignore my little tantrum but I'm sure most of you will steer well clear.

Good sensible purchase
The third disc makes this set a five star for me. A collection of tracks, most of them I have heard but great to have a copy in one place. I particularly like the genesis generic packaging and find the whole set well worth the money.
