It looks like they may have updated the fixing mechanism so the weigh distribution is a lot better. Was using a fairly heft condenser mic and cradle, TWO pop shields and on a fairly basic mic stand, the whole stood up without issue. Recommended by a top engineer I was working with. You will always need to watch out for rear-reflections (duvet on wall) and possibly a slab of foam insulation to sit over the top of it - not essential though. Review: Pricey but good. - If you know about this product then you probably know all about it and have probably used it. I brought this to track some vocal and guitar amp overdubs and it works. I looked at some slightly cheaper alternatives that looked good but I didn't actually get to audition. The SE relexion filter has that brand recognition factor and looks professional though. It basically allows drier recordings by helping to prevent reflections from the room coming in to the back and sides of the mic. You still need something behind that sound source (a duvet will do in a pinch) but what it does it does very well and transparently. The seller was very fast and knowledgeable as well. The reflection filter itself attaches to a bracket it comes with that has a rubber-padded "clamp" which can attach to anything round, like the shaft of the mic stand - the bracket holds both the filter and the mic/shock mount.
