Very competent device. Works well and instructions are an example to all.
This item arrived this morning and I decided to inspect it and set it up without reading the manual to see how intuitive it would be to use. On/Off switch looked like it was a slider section to open the battery compartment. I gently slid it towards the slotted end and it opened revealing the battery compartment. Next I looked for the (+ -) polarity marks and it had both so in went the two batteries. Closed the compartment and as the frothing-whisk was already in place straight out of the box I switched on and watched it whiz up to 14,000 RPM (can you imagine that? 14k revs per minute is 230 rotations every second!) What is even more amazing is that it is safe to have it whizzing at that speed with no danger of breaking your arm off if you accidentally touched it - it's speed without immense power.I then popped it back in the very handy stand that comes with it. Nice to have no cable and plug to tie up tidily and I read the manual. I read all the other excellent reviews here and noted about the avoidance of pushing the individual tools too far in until they get jammed.Next was do a test. I poured 200mil of milk into a cylindrical mug, enough for 2 cups of Cappuccino and with enough space above the milk to allow for the froth to pile up and not overflow. I used a plastic collection mug from a Juice Extractor that I never use! I heated the milk in a small saucepan to 70º (said he showing off the degree sign in the text!) I have a little thermometer that clips on the saucepan that came with my Espresso Coffee machine. Then poured this into my frothing mug and set the whizzer going with the circular frother tool in place. I used the same technique as described in the manual and which is similar to the way you froth milk using a steam pipe ie keeping the frothing tool just below the surface of the un-frothed milk and moving it slowly up and down avoiding lifting it through the froth otherwise it would throw milk splashes like running an electric toothbrush before you put it in your mouth!Froth built up nicely and it was reasonably fast and not so long as to let the milk cool too much to use.I'd already poured the Espresso into my two large breakfast cups with the black coffee including its 'crema' brown froth around the rim. So all that remained was to pour the milk into each cup and finish by dividing the froth between the two cups at the end. Result - Perfect Espresso Cappuccino. If you use filtered or bottled water to make your coffee and use an espresso grind of coffee to your own taste, the results are better than any coffee you can get in a Motorway service area brewed by the main national brands. I used a fresh ground mixture of Mocha and Costa Rica beans and the coffee is never bitter or sharp. Others may prefer a darker robusta roast but my conclusion is this little frother is going to be fine for my use. We intend to take it on our campervan holiday trips so we can brew up a decent coffee from filter coffee packs and add our own cappuccino wherever we are.I will end by saying I have a Swiss made heating and frothing cappuccino maker at home, as well as the Main electric Espresso Machine can do cappuccino via the steam pipe, but I prefer the finer froth created by the whipping process and this little battery machine really does seem to be 'the biz'. I can't report on how long the two AA batteries last before they lose their stir-crazy power but we'll keep a spare set with us so it won't let us down.So if I had tested it longer I'd give it a potential 5 stars but for now, I reckon it's "I like it" but it could very well grow on me!

Great little Gadget
I had one of these years ago and haven't seen them around since mine gave up. I don't want it for frothing but to use, mainly, for whizzing the lumps out of my hot chocolate and it does the job perfectly. However, after the first time, when it went everywhere (!), I have learnt not to fill the mug up so far. Luckily, as a just-in-case-measure, I had put the mug in the sink before starting the whisk so that at least the chocolate was contained. Anyway, I have found that by immersing it about half way up the mug I don't get in such a mess. I suppose it would be better to use a jug really but then there is the extra washing up. Not fond of that!! I did try the egg/sauce mixer accessory on scrambling eggs but found that it didn't seem to have enough power when I put the whisk right into the egg mixture but when I held the bowl at an angle and held the whisk so that the whole blade was almost straight just under the surface, it worked a treat. It's difficult to describe but, if you imagine just laying a pencil on the top so that it is floating and then dipping slightly one end, I think you will almost have it right. It's like everything else, I guess, trial and error is the answer. I think it would have been a good idea to have made the stand a little longer with section for all the whisks as I am thinking they might get damaged in my kitchen drawer but, hey, you can't have it all and for the price I am very happy.

Worth the cash if you are an obsessive cappuccino aficionado without enough for a big italian monster machine
I've owned 3 of these frothers and this is the most expensive and the best by a margin. I've had it about a month now, and I've no issues. It is powerful, as a defining characteristic. I expect this is because it is a 2 battery (3v) device not a 1.5v device as I've used before twice, and is better designed than the other 3v device I used. This has the huge advantage of frothing to a finer silkier milk froth finish, but the downside of hurling milk up the sides of the mug and on to the work-surface if I am injudicious. A jug might be wiser. I'd recommend frothing after microwaving your milk if you wish to have a cappuccino. Anti-intuitively skimmed milk is easier to froth than full, though semi-skimmed is fine too.The extra accessories, aside from the spare milk-froth loop, I cannot see myself ever using.Relatively convincing froth can be obtained in about 20 seconds, perhaps less if you are gifted. I use rechargeable batteries with no issues at all.

Great device
My first ever Amazon review but thought this needed one. The best milk frother / mixer available I reckon. I was going to get an Aerolatte frother to go with my other Aerolatte items but decided on this. Its reassuringly weighty, nice fish and easy to hold. Stand is a nice touch, attachments are great. I previously had a milk frother with a whisk attachment, it was bigger but didn't spin anywhere near as fast so I never used it again. This whisk (egg beater its called) is a perfect size and spins really fast! Two milk frothing attachments in case one gets lost is good too. The speed of it is incredible, previously I had a milk frother than came with a bent attachment so it would wobble and vibrate in my hand whilst using it, this product is very stable and easy to use. The attachments can be a bit hard to pull out sometimes but just use something to prise it off, be careful not to bend the attachments so hold at the base. You get two speed settings, you barely need to use the fastest setting, I find I have to keep it on slow as the froth soon whips up using milk. I also use this for protein shakes (milk or water) and its as good as a blender without the cleaning up! Very much worth the bit extra cost for a premium product.Edit: if you are buying this then don't change the attachments very often, mine broke and part of it got stuck in the hole, so had to throw it away. Seems other people have had same problem, shame it has this flaw.
