Great pen, but the 600 model feels tiny little better
I have many Rotring pens and mechanical pencils. All are 600 model pen and this is my first Rapid Pro pen. All seems similar, great writing experiences, weight and balance very similarly great. The only difference, apart from appearance and rounder /less angular body, is that button click is not as smooth as the 600 model pen. Both are already good, but all 600 pens are so smooth and satisfying that can serve like fidget. As the price of pens fluctuates online, and for different colours, when 600 model is cheaper than Rapid Pro, I’d definitely get 600 again. Guess I’d still get 600 even if it’s slightly pricier than Rapid Pro. But they’re both great anyway and won’t feel letdown if you’re not owning both pens.

Rotring Medium Rapid Pro Ballpoint Pen
This is just lovely. I thought I'd ordered a black ink one, but a blue one arrived and it's lovely anyway. Has a great weight to it, and the build and finish quality is impeccable. The blue seems a slightly darker shade than I'm used to as well, which just makes it even more tremendous. It feels like it will last forever. Just a quick minor point; it would make a fabulous gift for someone you really liked, but do be aware the packaging is pretty minimal - mine arrived squeezed into a Toblerone type triangular box about the same size as the pen itself, which was pretty uninspiring. So while not big on presentation, the pen itself is magnificent. I may give up email and hand write everything now.

If you’re after a robust, no nonsense, good writing pen then look no further.
Having never tried a rotring pen before I did what a lot of people do when looking for reviews - went onto YouTube. Rapid Pro, 600 or 800? For something I would be using everyday on the move I felt the first two suited my everyday needs more. As the Rapid Pro has more of a rounded hexagonal profile I went for that one. Been using it now for nearly 2 months now and love it. I have a collection of Cross pens and had been using these at work but found them a bit too slippy when out and about - great if you are office based. The Rapid Pro is built to last and can take a bit of neglect. The clip is excellent to secure it in a note book, pocket, car visor etc. The knurling grip is just right and the more rounded profile sits nicely in the hand. Really impressed with it and it’s now my go to pen. Felt the need to expand my Rotring collection and now have the Rapid Pro pen in black, silver and the 2mm pencil. Feel the need to get more colourful now 🙂 If you’re after a robust, no nonsense, good writing pen then look no further.

A joy to write with.
I have two of these pens now. A rotring 600 and a rotring pro, I use a pen everyday in my job and these are both a pleasure to use, making writing notes a joy.

Great pen, lousy refills
The pen body is great; solidd feel, well engineered. The refills leak everywhere. Buy Schaefer.

Heavy but lovely
I'm really not sure why I like this pen so much. It's heavy, a little ugly, and the blue ink it comes with is a horrible colour (I only use black) But I really like writing with it, it's well balanced and feels good in the hand. It also feels very well made and I expect it to last a long time.

Good weight and durable.
This pen has withstood some abuse. It's been a few months and I've yet to change the cartridge after daily use. It's been dropped, thrown, used as a pry tool, the list goes on. And the weight makes it satisfying to fidget with and spin in your fingers!

Nice, "industrial" design let down by cheap internal mechanism
I really liked the design and the all-metal body construction of this pen. Unfortunately the internal mechanism that activates and retracts the pen tip is mostly made of plastic components and, if like me you like to play with your pen and click it randomly, over time those plastic parts round out or just straight-up break, rendering the pen useless. This pen lasted a little over a month or so before it broke, which was incredibly disappointing.
