The media could not be loaded. I would highly recommend this product.We’ve had a problem with grey squirrels eating the flowers and fruit from our trees so we wanted them gone. After looking at a number of products we opted for this one based on the reviews and we were not disappointed.The price is excellent given the high quality. Very sturdy, easy to put together and very easy to set. We placed it out early yesterday morning and we had our first catch within a couple of hours. The beast tried its hardest to get out but this trap held firm and kept it contained until it could be humanely despatched.Worth mentioning that under UK law you are not allowed to release grey squirrels into the wild as they are vermin so once you’ve caught one, you will have to kill it.

Managed to catch seven squirrels in a week! They are clever little beggers and were lifting up the cage to get the nuts from underneath so I put a heavy stone on the top. I also found that the release bar was getting knocked from the outside and setting it off so I have leaned a large tile up against the side of the trap or place the bar side against a wall. Make sure the plate is pressed fully to the floor before setting the release bar (as close to the edge as you can) and, finally, I have placed a wire mesh tube, from the inside of nut bird feeder, inside the trap which I then fill up with nuts - they cant resist it. We seem tp be squirrel free for the moment.

Works great, I’ve caught my two pesky squirrels that are wrecking everything, ignore any negative reviews, it’s not flimsy at all, it does take some putting together but instructions are comprehensive and it’s honestly easy if you work in order, a bit of a tip that worked for me, it’s a cage!, there is no solid base, so where I put it (in a border on bark) the peanuts just fell through, so I found a small tin (50mm ish) and put a couple of holes in and cable tied it inside, I was able to fill it with nuts and peanut butter, morning after “presto”…. also perseverance… don’t give up, it will happen!

Arrived on time and was well packed in a flat package. Full instuctions are included explaining how to assemble and set the trap. It was a bit fiddly at first and I made a couple of errors setting it up before re-reading the instructions again carefully and taking care to follow each step.Once the trap was set and I had installed the bait I left it in a spot where squirrels had always passed by and left it 24 hours. The next day I checked the trap and it was still open. No takers of the bait and no captured squirrel. I left it another 24 hours for the squirrels to become accustomed to something new and the next day I found one angry squirrel had eaten all the bait and was well and truly trapped.I dealt with the squirrel and reset the trap with new bait. The next morning another squirrel was found trapped and full of bait. I quickly dealt with squirrel and again reset the trap. Later tht day I could hear the trap being rattled from indoors and when I went out to check I found a third squirrel inside. This one was going mad and really trying to escape. again I dealt with the mad squirrel and reset the trap.Now I don't know whether squirrels can communicate by movement, but they don't make much noise. However they have somehow communicated to other friends that this contraption catches them as the first 3 were from the same family in 1 nest and since then all others I have seen have come from somewhere else and they seem to be avoiding the trap which has not had any takers for a week now. Perhaps the bait is not tempting them and I will have to buy some different food for them. I'm sure it will just be a matter of time.

This was purchased to catch a squirrel that raids my bird feeders on a daily basis. I set it up, put it in my garden near the bird feeders and went back inside for a shower. About 30 minutes later, I looked out my window and saw that the door had snapped shut, but the cage was empty and leaning on an odd angle. The squirrel had been able to make the cage slant on an angle so that an opening appeared beneath the spring door, and it escaped.... with the bait I set out for it. This product requires some sort of anchors for the ground or stabilization bars. Without some way to make this rigid, it is not fit for purpose. *Return!*

Happy with the cage, arrived quicker than expected and works very well.

Well made item, sturdy but doesn’t trap. I have baited the trap with nuts, squirrels are eating the nuts but the trap isn’t working. The mechanism needs adjusting to be more sensitive. I will try to improve the workings of the trap.
