I think you could pay 5 times as much and not find anything better. Highly recommended.
I've now purchased two of these holders; I paid £6.99 each and I see they now available for a very reasonable £4.99 each. Some while back, I bought a relatively expensive aluminium holder to mount an iPhone on to a tripod for video work. I wanted something that clamped the phone, so I wasn't leaving the security of my £700 phone to a spring clip and a prayer. Recently I purchased some equipment to help achieve a more professional look to iPhone videos being shot in my office; this included a tripod and a suitable mount. The aluminium mount I bought myself previously was no longer available, but I came across this mount, which had a very large number of positive reviews.Out of the box, it's not quite as small as my aluminium mount, but it relatively compact and very light (72g, just over 12cm long and about 5.5cm deep at its widest point). However, if you don't need to rotate your phone on the mount, you can remove the clamp section from the rotating arm section by undoing fully the tightening screw. This leaves the clamp, which has a standard 1/4" female tripod screw on the bottom and back, as a very portable 8.5cm x 3.5cm unit. The clamp is extremely secure and I've used it with an iPhone 5c, 5s, 6 and 8 plus, both with and without cases. I only ever video in landscape format and I adjust the iPhone level using the head on my tripod, so the 360 degree rotation isn't important to me. But if it is to you, be aware the iPhone 8 plus is too big to rotate fully through 360; you can rotate the holder and then mount the phone to take pictures (or video) in portrait though. Also, with the 'rotation' arm fitted, there is a bit of flex at the top, near where the arm screws onto the clamp section. In most situations this doesn't seem to cause any problems, but if you're taking a long exposure and have your phone mounted to a decent tripod for stability, I'd be inclined to remove the arm and screw the clamp directly to the tripod.Overall, this is a great little clamp. It's well made, securely holds a wide range of phones, it's very light and portable, and it's a great price. As a way of mounting a smart phone to a tripod or mini-tripod, I think you could pay 5 times as much and not find anything better. Highly recommended.

Versatile lightweight strong rotating mount holder for smartphones
I bought this mount holder to mount either my of two smartphones on a tripod for sharper photo’s or if I wish to slow the shutter speed down. It has that nice -almost nylony type feeling as opposed to cheap brittle plastic. I have not used it yet but have took photo’s of it mounted on one of the tripods I use for the purpose of this review. It can come apart and the phone grip mounted directly onto a tripod plate which enables the the phone to tilt and swivel using the ball head or mounted with the rotating mount holder which allows the the phone to rotate fluidly and quickly between landscape and portrait mode. At the moment I am liking it very much but as I said I have only used it for five minutes to review it out of the box

A well made bargain - no need to look elsewhere.
A great smartphone mount for photography or video. It holds your device in a vice-like grip (literally), adjusted by a screw rather than a spring, with the rubberised jaws opening to anywhere from 54mm to 104mm. Be aware that the jaws will come apart if opened too wide - there's no end stop but it's no big deal, just screw the jaws back together. The ability to rotate the mount 360 degrees and lock it in place with another screw allows landscape and portrait modes as well as anywhere in between. The holder comes with two brass 1/4" screw holes for mounting to a tripod and connecting an accessory. If you’re using this on a tripod for landscape photo/video then a neat hack is to screw the tripod directly to the jaws instead. This allows the mount to rotate almost 360 degrees around your phone and you can either use it for added stability to cup your phone or attach an accessory (via the second 1/4” screw hole) such as a light or microphone. I’ve even screwed a pistol grip to each hole to make a cheap and effective stabiliser - just remember to keep your arms steady. It's plastic but is well made with a decent finish. And mine survived a trip to the Canadian Rockies whilst attached to a flexible mini tripod for roadtrip timelapse video (working perfectly). If cared for, it should last a lifetime.

Life Changing
This is life changing! With so many zoom calls and WhatsApp video calls with our family over the last few months, I was fed up with my wife holding the phone and sticking in my face or focusing on the ceiling or trying to balance it on a cushion. Something had to be done. This was the answer. Attached to a small Joby tripod we already had it's been a revelation. It's easy to adjust, seems sturdy and well up to the job and can see it will last for years. Perfect for the money.I may buy more for for each of our grown own kids so we can avoid the 5 minutes of chaos at the start of every family call where they hunt around for a suitable balancing point for their phone.

Good to allow a phone to be used handsfree on some form of photo tripod
Purchased this item as I was getting fed up of having to hold my Samsung S9 while video calling when working from home. The mount seems to be made of fairly tough plastic and should last the usual wear and tear that it will endure. The phone rests in a pivotable cradle with it being held by an adjustable arms. The arms have a rubber grip on the inside to hold the phone in place and they don't need to be screwed that tightly. While having the charger cable attached I had to have the phone secured towards the bottom of the phone so that the cable wasn't stressed but had no worries about it slipping while in portrait mode. With the power cable removed after slacking off the cradle arms slightly the phone rests on the bottom of the cradle and is held firmly enough (for me) and allows it to be removed easily. The pivot allows the phone to be switched from portrait to landscape although if this was only being used landscape fashion the second tripod mount is ideal.I will probably order another one in the new year so that it can go with my camera gear.
