Ive been using mine for a few weeks and i love it. The weight helps itsink fast and i cover more area. I through this into a shallow riger for like a week straight and its banged up, but i never chipped the magnet. (It landed on some big rocks, even some above water). By far my favorite magnet. I just wish it could be stronger. Brute magnetics need to work on a bigger magnet like this. I would buy it tomorrow

Brute magnetics in my humble opinion makes the best fishing magnets. Not even a close second anywhere..

My first experience in magnet fishing, this magnet probably works as expected. I have been pleased with the performance.

First time out with this sucker, and we pulled 40ish unfired rifle rounds. The other magnet, which was a double sided of similar magnetic strength, couldn't find a single thing in the same exact spot. The reason? This thing dredges as you reel it in. The beastly weight of this sucker will test your endurance (recommend a shot put style throw to use centripetal motion to help max out distance), but it will also help remove a good amount of silt and muck as it pulls along to reveal rusty gold underneath.Cons? Do NOT use this thing in man made lakes with large rocks. That same dredging effect will also mean it likes to wedge itself between rocks. Many man made lakes have large chunks of concrete at the bottom. It doesn't matter if you have 5 weight lifters and a winch, you're going to need to approach it from the opposite angle or swim down to release it.

Magnet does not appear to be as strong as what it was advertised as the pulling weight isn’t great

Very strong magnet. I waved this over an old wood burning iron stove and one of the top cover plates hopped up to the magnet and was very difficult to separate the two (I consider this a definite plus). The shape of the magnet is ideal for magnet fishing and minimizes the possibility of it getting stuck on an underwater obstacle. I am very pleased with this purchase.

This thing is a monster! Incredibly heavy, goes down wherever you put it, current or not. I pulled up a cordless drill from 35ish feet down that I dropped the day before in silt and mud, and it grabbed it instantly. Could barely feel the weight if the drill though. Not practical for throwing or dragging, but excellent for straight down or bouncing along under a dock. Fit and finish is great, looks very impressive. Pair it up with some spectra-line and pull it up!

Haven't tried it yet, but it it looks like it's going to work great! A little on the heavy side, but I'm old! Wouldn't be a problem for a younger person! Looking forward to using it!
