Well made and impressively sharp axe
I needed simple axe for those simple tasks in the garden: tree root here, tree branch there, nothing but casual use from time to time. Long story short, these 4.4 stars proved to be well deserved product rating. The axe arrives with blade safely resting in a leather cover. Weight & size seem to fit perfectly most of the users: not to big & heavy for less demanding tasks, not too light & flimsy to be worried of braking it. Just like a top quality hammer - you're instantly sure you can use it with both force & confidence. The handle is as simple as functional: although it's just hardened rubber, the grip is really solid. Even in wet hands, when those rows come in real handy.Everyday use is more than satisfying - the axe cuts through wood very well and won't require sharpening in a long time. Balance is ok, althouth (obviously) it can't match those fancy "up-to-single-gram" expensive products made by top brands in the industry. That said, in casual tier of gardening tools this one marks all spots and wil last you years.Summary: if you use axe casually and you're looking for something both sharp & hard to break, this is the one you should buy. It has a durablity of a hammer, sharpness of a knife and impossible to beat price. A great tool to have.

Great little hatchet - it's a wonder I still have all my fingers
I purchased this little hatchet to make kindling out of seasoned/kiln dried fire wood. I don't live on a farm, I have no need to cut up huge trunks of tree or anything like that, but I do get bags of firewood delivered for my woodburner and wanted to take the smaller logs and generate some kindling. So bare in mind I'm not a lumberjack, or a survivalist, or anyone who should really have any business using an axe. It's pretty dangerous for me to have one to be honest, but there we go.The axe has a good feel in the hand with a decent weight to it. The handle is pretty non-slip; I've used it a fair bit in the past few weeks since buying it and having never properly handled an axe before, I am still yet to take my toes or fingers off with it which quite frankly amazes me. The length of the handle makes a nice long fulcrum (I think that's the word?) with which to split wood. I've split a piece of firewood clean in two with this axe when giving it a fair bit of momentum before hitting the timber. The wedge when embedded in the wood can then be battoned with another piece of wood if need be and the construction of the axe definitely lends itself to that. It doesn't feel like it's going to break apart or the head will come off anytime soon, which is great because I have so much more wood to cut up in the weeks ahead. It comes with the little protective sheath to go over the axe head as well, which is a very nice touch.I have genuinely no complaints with it. The only issues I've had have been down to me and me alone - the axe does what I bought it for really well. Other reviewers may have different use cases in which case, this axe may not be for them or for you. But for splitting smaller bits of wood, it works a treat.

Nice well rounded axe, seems built to last.
The media could not be loaded. This was brought for my camping trip for June 2019.Thought I'll buy an all in one axe instead of a wooden one as I've gone through two in the past and the awful side of them is when the metal fly's off so I thought this would be a good time to buy one of these.Pros:* Looks very sturdy.* Nice weight to it.* Protective case for blade.* Nice grip to it.* It looks like it's built for many many years of use.* Kind of ready to go but..Cons:* Ready to use but you definitely need to sharpen it with a stone to give it a lovely sharp edge as it's slightly dull.* Doesn't look exactly like the picture as you can see from the head and grip.* Did appear to have some markings across the head when I opened it up but I ain't fussed by it as it's going to get much worse with how much use I'll be getting out of it.Final thoughts:I would recommend this axe. It's well rounded with its weight and grip. The only import part is to buy a stone to sharpen it as this is the most important item people forget when owning an axe. It's built to last from the looks of it but let's hope so. Over all I would definitely recommend.

Arrives blunt, but great quality.
This is a perfect axe for basic tasks, It feels very weighty and has a hard transparent plastic coating over the heavy metal head. It feels smooth to the touch, the blade was completely dull when it arrived, but 15-20 mins of sweeps with a basic knife sharpener and my axe was ready to go. The rubber grip feels very comfortable to hold, and the back of the axe head is flat and can be used as a hammer or mallet. The only downside I can find is that you get slightly more shock in your arm than you would with a more expensive brand, but for the money... you can't beat this. The axe stays sharp for a reasonable amount of time, and i'd guess it has a hardness rating of 45-47

Wouldn't leave the house without it!
This is fantastic little Axe/Hatchet. To give background on myself I am a keen bushcrafter and wild camper - primarily what I use this product for. I have also used it for gardening purposes. The Axe itself is a good weight with the 'sheath' giving the option to be attached to a belt or harness - a little plus point I hand't realised when I orginally purchased it.I have used the Axe for many tasks including splitting wood and removing small branches from trees. It has a good weight which gives it an easy swing whilst the metal is robust enough it can put up with the more strenous tasks you may ask of it.The Rubber Grip is well bonded to the shaft and shows no wear and tear after 5 months use - super!I would have no hesitation in recommending this little tool to anyone. An easy 5 stars for me!

Blunt!
Bought axe as gift, nice and heavy. Looks sturdy. But blade was blunt. Would have struggled to cut an apple with this!
