LONFENNER Creative Moon and Stars Pendant / Ceiling Lights Moon and Stars, for Children’s Room, Living Room

We purchased this light for our nursery. It looks beautiful but please be aware it is potentially deadly. The construction is a steel frame with aluminium wire over it. The aluminium wire is not insulated or enamelled. The lamps are 240v LEDs. There is no earth connection between the body of the light and the ceiling rose, just the insulated two core wire. There is a 3 inch length of earth wire supplied in the bag but this would only be enough to earth the ceiling housing. Finally where the live/neutral wires meet the body of the lamp they are simply crimped to the four pairs of wires going to the LEDs. There is no additional insulation around the connectors (see the second picture) meaning that if a wire is loose the entire lamp will become live at 240v.We had our light installed and as soon as the switch was turned on there was a bang and smoke poured out of one of the stars (see third picture) as the connection was loose and it arced to the frame. In many ways I'm glad it failed in this manner as the alternative would have been the frame being live at 240v and us only finding out when we were electrocuted.This light is beautiful but has the potential to electrocute you. If you have one I would recommend getting a competent electrician to earth the frame for you and be very careful when changing the bulbs as the wires going into the bulb holders were not held securely on our light causing the fault.I hope this review helps someone.R

Installation and cake adjustment are easy, build quality is good and it's a striking piece. The light it gives off is much colder than appears in the photos. Not suitable for our bedroom, relocating it to the stairs, where it's full height will work well
