For a bike light, I needed this to light up an unlit bike path enough to allow me to travel at around 20mph, which it does, so 5 stars. It is small, but reasonably heavy which makes it seem robust. It has 3 functions: full power, lower power and flashing at full power. Using it at full power I can get around 2.5-3 hours of use before the low battery light comes on. At that point the beam seems to dim and will run comfortably for another 1.5 hours although it will continue to dim throughout. By the end of that time, it would not sufficiently light my path enough for me to travel at speed. In flashing mode, which I use on the road during daylight hours, it will attract the attention of any motorist. It is very bright and stroboscopic, so as long as you direct it below the horizontal it shouldn't blind motorists but you will definitely be seen. It will easily last a 4 hour ride on flashing mode. The only downside for me is the length of time it takes to charge, which is perhaps 5-6 hours, but start a charge at bedtime and it will be fully charged overnight. It would be great if additional fittings could be bought to allow you to very quickly and easily change from one bike to another without having to remove the fitting itself (which can be done in a couple of minutes anyway). The fitting itself when fully tightened can still be rotated quite easily - which I thought would be a disadvantage - however considering its weight, the light does not move the fitting on its own (when travelling on bumpy roads for example) so this is not a problem.

This is an excellent bit of kit, but it's not without its faults. Firstly, on the positive side, it is deceptively compact and light compared to other lights I've owned - probably because the battery is lighter, I don't know. It's easy to mount and charges quite quickly with a decent 2A USB charger. The output is incredibly bright for a cycle lamp, and you'll have no trouble being seen (or seeing where you're going), even in the gloomiest conditions.The ON/OFF switch is a touch-sensitive affair which will not accidentally turn the light on and drain your battery while it's in your bag. However, unless you have gloves with mobile phone-friendly fingertips, you will have to take your gloves off to operate it.On the downside, there is absolutely no light visible from the side. Many cycle lamps have, at least, a minor portion of the front lens that is visible from the side, but this ain't one of 'em. So, if you're worried about your side-on visibility to other road users, this may not be the item for you.Another negative - in my opinion - is the speed of the 'flashing' setting. The light has three modes 1) On all the time - bright 2) on all the time - slightly less bright and 3) Flashing. As mentioned above, the bright setting is astounding and lights everything in your path. The less bright setting is perfect for everyday use and saves your battery. However, the 'flashing' setting is so fast it is a virtual (fit-inducing) strobe light. That's not to say it's unusable, just peculiar. It certainly gets you noticed though! Personally, I prefer the slightly slower, less frantic speed of most other lights I have experienced.If you're in the market for a compact, bright and sturdy cycle lamp and can live with the minor flaws I've mentioned, then this is to be recommended. The fact that I will never have to replace the batteries or bulb again certainly made my mind up

My cycle to work is mostly on dark country roads with no street lights. After riding for one day with a small light and not being able to see the road, I ordered this and I couldn't be happier with it. It lights up the whole road in front, meaning you can see any bumps or things to avoid, and makes you visible to other road users from a good distance. It's easy to turn on with gloves on thanks to the little touch button on top, and you get lots of attachments to fit it to the bike or for using as a torch.The only downside was that the handlebar attachments aren't a great fit on my bike (a B'Twin road bike). I used the smaller rubber insert and had to do the screw up all the way, but the larger one was too big for the screw to be done up at all. I'm sure this could be fixed by trimming the larger insert though.Overall I'd definitely say it's worth the price to keep you safe on the road.
