Fractal Design Define R4 Case for Computer - Black Pearl

This case is spacious, cool, and easy to build in. The movable drive cage helps with a tidy build, and the front and bottom dust filters help the inside stay very clean. The top exhausts are also covered with removable panels (plasitc, backed with thick foam, screwed in place) so that they won't let dust in if not in use. The foam on these top panels, both side panels, and inside the front of the case (which is a hinged door) help the whole thing run really quietly. The only thing I would change is the number of loops for attaching cable ties behind the motherboard - there aren't enough, and it makes a tidy build slightly tricky. There are maybe 4 from memory, (though don't quote me on that) all near to the rubber grommets that let the cables through, and we ended up using several of them twice. Not a huge problem, but more would be nice.We have a CoolerMaster hyper212 evo with two noctua nf-f12 fans cooling an i5 3570k (slightly overclocked to 4Ghz), and a Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 Ghz OC edition. We've also added an additional Fractal 140mm silent series fan to the front of the case, along with the fans that come pre-installed (120mm rear exhaust, 140mm front intake). With the in-built fan controller at the lowest setting the PC can't be heard over ambient room noise, and the CPU is pretty cool (30-35 degrees per core at idle). With the fan controller at max the case can't really be heard over game audio, and I haven't seen it exceed 60 degrees at the CPU.Far superior to our old Zalman Z9 plus (which is admittedly a much cheaper case, and fine for the price).EDIT: There was a slight problem with this case - a piece of the noise-dampening foam inside was peeling off, and refused to stick back down. Not a major problem, but to their credit Fractal sent me a new part as soon as I got in touch and provided proof of purchase/serial number. Brilliant customer service. It's worth noting as well that you can buy replacements for almost any part if you need it - cabling for the front I/Os, drive cage, side panels, dust filters, you name it. Very handy if a piece is damaged but you don't want to buy a whole new case.

Absolutely beautiful case , especially for my purpose as a home server... every panel is equipted with sound deadning pads... some can be removed if the builder wishes to install more cooling rads or extra fans and this case has room for everything from water cooling to many 140/120mm fans .. in addition to all this it comes with enough spare drive bays to mount 10+ hard drives , be it 3 1/2 Sata Drives to SSD Drives .. MB fitting is ATX or miniATX... buyer wont be isappointed ... if you cant get hold of this model the R4 ... the new vesion the R5 is very similar ... well pleased .. highly recomended :)

It also includes your risers for the motherboard and a tool to screw them in with a screw driver, which was a nice touch.The panels come off really easily and there is a hole where the motherboard sits so you can access the back plate even after you have installed your motherboard.As I stated before the cable management for this case is great, plenty of holes around the motherboard to route cables which leaves the PC looking very nice in the end. You can even remove a number of the drive bays to help with the air flow in the case. I removed it as I only needed 2 drive bays for my build.The case includes 2 fans with room to add 4 more at a squeeze (Although the fan controller on the front only has room to control 3). I ordered a spare with this case and a CPU cooler which had a fan. This allowed me to have 2 fan intakes and 2 outtakes which has kept this case very cool. Even with intensive gaming the case is still putting out cold air which is great.I opted for this case with a window as I wanted to look at the inside of my PC, but I was worried about the increase in noise. Even with the 4 fans inside this case and the GPU fans all running at the same time it is very quiet. Any background noise at all and you cannot hear the PC running.This case is a bit on the large size if you do not have much space to work with, but if you are setting it out in the open you should have no trouble at all. It leaves plenty of room in the case for cable management, air flow and room for upgrades. I bought a very large GPU and this case had no trouble fitting it in what-so-ever.For the price of this case it was a great buy.

Very nice case with ample airflow and space for a large GPU (if you remove the extra hard drive cage). Front and bottom intakes are filtered with easy to remove filters, and hard drive trays take care of vibrational noise nicely. Because of how thin the metal of the case is, the top panel has bent inwards where the two vents are (hence the 4 rather than 5 stars). In order to fix this I had to replace the vent covers the case comes with, effectively forcing the top panel to flatten out.

Lange drauf gespart und nun da.Wie die Beschreibung schon sagt, es ist ein großes Gehäuse, aber das will man ja auch wenn man sich für dieses entscheidet.Es ist sehr hochwertig und wie man auch auf den Produktbildern sehen kann, sehr schlicht.Genau meine Vorstellung. Die vordere Klappe schließt mit einem Magnetmechanismus.Wenn man erstmal alles verpackt hat (auf der rechten Seite, dort wo die Kabel hinkommen,) kann es schonmal was eng werden, aber es soll ja vorne durch das Sichtfenster ordentlich aussehen und nichts da sein was den Luftstrom behindern könnte.Ich war überrascht wie leide mein PC auf einmal wurde. Keine Lüftergeräusche mehr, und wenn sich die Festplatten abschlaten (mein System ist auf einer SSD),dann merkt man garnichts mehr.Wenn alle Lüfter auf der höchsten Stufe laufen hört der PC sich wieder wie in meinem alten Gehäuse an, aber wann braucht man schonmal die volle Lüfterleistung.Der einzige Nachteil, welcher jedoch bei dieser Größe und dem Komfort nachvollziehbar ist, ist, dass der PC ganz schön schwer wird.Dadurch wird der PC zur sicheren Fußablage ;)

HalloDas Gehäuse entspricht voll und ganz meinen Erwartungen. Die Verarbeitung ist klasse und es ist massig Platz im inneren. Selbst große Grafikkarten finden Problemlos Platz. Hab eine Radeon R9 280X auf einem Asus H97 Mainboard verbaut und das ging ohne Probleme. Selbst noch längere Grafikkarten passen da man einen Teil des Festplattenkäfigs raus nehmen kann.besonders gefiel mir das ich meine SSD-Festplatte hinter der Mainboardwand montieren konnte, spart mir den Einbaurahmen.Zubehör wird auch reichlich mitgeliefert.Die vormontierten Gehäuselüfter sind auch gut, hab noch einen dritten im Deckel montiert. Selbst unter Vollast ist der PC sehr leise und wird super gekühlt.Mein Xeon 1231 wird unter Prime 95 nicht wärmer wie 68 Grad. Beim Spielen sind es knapp 50 Grad und im Idle knapp 30 Grad.Ich verwende einen Artic Freezer CPU-Kühler.Gruß Barret

Questo case riesce nell'impresa di abbinare silenzio e visibilità interna, grazie alla presenza della finestra, che offre un buon colpo d'occhio sulle componenti interne: il resto delle paratie sono invece rivestite di materiale fonoassorbente, per ridurre al minimo i rumori di funzionamento del pc.Il case presenta delle ottime soluzioni costruttive (pur non essendo totalmente tool-less) e, date le generose dimensioni, consente un agevole assemblaggio del pc, oltre ad un facile cable management. Ottimo il sistema di areazione, che permette di avere ben due ventole da 14 in immissione frontale ed una ventola di dimensioni simili (o più piccole) in estrazione posteriore. Questa la dotazione base, ma è possibile anche inserire una ventola sul fondo del case e due sulla cima dello stesso, rimuovendo i pannelli fonoassorbenti. Inoltre il cestello degli hard disk è removibile, permettendo un miglior afflusso di aria.Le paratie sono solide e molto spesse, a prova di vibrazione. E' presente anche un pulsante frontale che permette di gestire fino a tre ventole, regolandone la velocità secondo 3 diverse opzioni. Sul pannello frontale, oltre al tasto di accensione, troviamo anche 4 porte usb, di cui 2 in versione 3.0.

Das Fractal Define R4 ist ein hervorragendes Gehäuse, das man wirklich bedenkenlos jedem weiterempfehlen kann. Das Gehäuse sieht in seinem schlichten Design sehr edel aus und bietet reichlich Platz, auch hinter dem Mainboard und der Backplate. Ich konnte alle Kabel nach hinten verlegen, so dass das Innere des Gehäuses sehr „aufgräumt“ aussieht, was wiederum einer guten Luftzirkulation zugute kommt. Dadurch kann ich alle Gehäuselüfter mit nur 5 Volt betreiben.Das gesamte Gehäusekonzept ist sehr gut durchdacht (Kabelmanagement, Lüfter(steuerung) und -anordnung, Laufwerkseinschübe, Staubfilter, Schalldämmung etc). Durch die vorinstallierte Schalldämmung ist der Rechner sehr leise.Durch die Möglichkeit zwei SSDs an der Rückseite zu verbauen, konnte ich auf den oberen Festplattenkäfig verzichten, so dass ich sogar eine GraKa mit einer theoretischen Länge von 43 cm einbauen könnte. Im unteren Teil der Festplattenhalterungen hatten dann immer noch drei 3,5 Zoll HDDs Platz.Fazit:Das Fractal Design R4 ist eines der besten Gehäuse, die ich jemals hatte. Da könne selbst wesentlich teurere Gehäuse anderer namhafter Hersteller nicht mithalten.

Un case stupendo. Molto semplice nel design, ma non banale o piatto.i materiali usati sono di buona qualitá e l'aspetto che ne risulta é elegante e stiloso.La finestra trasparente laterale della versione "Window" é molto ben fatta sia nella forma che nel materiale ben trasparente (senza riverberi e distorsioni di luce che ho notato in finestre di altri case) e fono-assorbente.Numerosi passacavi con diaframma in gomma permettono una corretta e ordinata sistemazione dei cavi.Le 2 ventole da 14cm in dotazione riescono a generare un buon flusso d'aria che riesce a tenere fresche la maggior parte delle configurazioni standard.Nel mio caso, con due GTX580 in SLI, ho dovuto, sí, migliorare i flussi interni con la collocazione di un paio di ventole piú piccole posizionate strategicamente nei dintorni delle due belve. Ma il flusso principale si é rivelato sufficiente a permettere di mantere basse le temperature.Inoltre é possibile aggiungere fino ad altre 4 ventole da 14cm e c'é anche la predisposizione per sistemi di raffreddamento a liquido All In One per ogni esigenza estrema.Unico neo: va bene la sobrietá che fará felice chi, come me, non ama led e lucine colorate varie, ma sul case c'é il solo power led e non é previsto completamente il led IDE che indica l'utilizzo degli hardisk. Una mancanza che un po'si sente.In conclusione un case molto bello, stiloso, comodo ed ergonomico, con un ottima insonorizzazione, dotato di ottimi flussi di raffreddamento e, cosa che non guasta mai, economico rispetto ad altre soluzioni piú famose e gettonate, ma non per questo necessariamente piú belle o efficienti.Consigliatissimo.

Die abnehmbaren Seitenklappen lassen sich leider nicht mehr durch die Verschlussschrauben richtig verschließen, da dessen Gewinde kaputt zu sein scheint. Bei der oberen Schraube war das Gewinde schon von Anfang an kaputt und seit einiger Zeit ist auch das untere Gewinde nun defekt.Zusätzlich muss ich erwähnen, dass wenn die Wintilation auf Maximum gestellt wird, mein PC abstürzt, obwohl eigentlich alles richtig gesteckt zu sein scheint.

Il define R4 ha un ottimo materiale fonoassorbente. Facile da assemblare un pc all'interno date le sue dimensioni.Per montare una HD 7950 di quasi 30cm ho dovuto smontare il case HDD rimuovibile, ma una volta montata si puo' rimettere tranquillamente.Tanto spazio nel retro della mobo per una gestione dei cavi eccezionale.Consigliato al 100%.Unica pecca probabilmente riscontrata da pochi se non solo da me, la pellicola sul plexiglass lascia residui sui bordi dove e' unito case e vetro. Probabilmente l'ho rimossa io male. Ottimo case. Migliore nella sua fascia di prezzo!

Gibt eigentlich nicht viel zu sagen. Das Fractal Define R4 setzt konsequent die Erfolgsgeschichte des R3 fort. Sehr gute Verarbeitung, innovative Konzepte (z.Bsp. SSD Plätze hinter dem Mainboard /Backplate, einfache Laufwerkseinschübe, super Kabelmanagement) und eine wirklich gute Schalldämmung. Alle Erwartungen wurden vollends erfüllt. Anzumerken ist vielleicht noch, dass auf Grund der Breite so gut wie jeder CPU Kühler ohne Probleme hinein passt. Auch der Platz für die Grafikkarte ist mehr als ausreichend. Alles in allem ein sehr schön verarbeitetes Case bei dem ich keinerlei Negativpunkte ausmachen konnte. Der Preis ist auch absolut gerechtfertigt und fair. Also von mir: Klare Kaufempfehlung!

Ich finde das Gehäuse einfach nur gut. Es sieht toll aus und ist ziemlich edel verarbeitete. Außerdem ist die kabelfürung in Verbindung mit dem Sichtfenster ziemlich cool. Ich habe mir och led strips bestellt in rot sieht ziemlich gelungen aus, da mein mainboard asus z170 ja auf rot leuchtet. Wen meine Kumpels reinkommen mache ich den PC a und alle staunen 1 wegen dem Klasse design und 2 wegen den Komponenten inendrin. Asus 170 Intel core i7 Corsair 64gb RAM 3x nivedia GTX 980 2tbssd 5tb HDD Wasserkühlung (rot leuchtend) passt alles problemlos ins gehause

Ce produit est à mes yeux parfait pour son utilisation. Je cherchais un boîtier insonorisé et élégant pour décorer ma chambre d'étudiant, et celui là me sied parfaitement. Le boîtier est orienté silence, et on le remarque directement sur les panneaux latéral avec une mousse insonorisant, ou les rack à disque dur équipés d'embout en caoutchouc pour fixer les disque dur et qui sont très efficaces (sur mon ancien boîtier, mon western digital caviar black était très bruyant alors que là, on n'entend plus rien).Le principal défaut du boîtier est la ventilation que l'on peut trouver un peu faiblarde, mais elle reste suffisante pour refroidir un core i5 3570K couplé à une HD7870. Le problème, c'est que le i5 reste un peu bruyant avec le rad stock, mais en ajoutant un petit rad, il devient discret et la configuration devient alors totalement discrète.Le switch qui permet de régler la vitesse à 5, 7 ou 12V est plutôt discret et pratique. Il permet de contrôler un ventilateur supplémentaire si on veut en ajouter un pour compenser le manque de punch de la ventilation.Un autre léger point noir est le montage, qui n'est pas forcément le plus rapide, mais il reste relativement simple.En claire, malgré la faiblesse de refroidissement, le boîtier est difficilement critiquable, et il mérite amplement ses 5 étoiles.

Beau boitier, bonne qualite de realisation, design un peu triste. Service commercial parfait. Il y a de la place. Notice de montage indigente, heureusement qu'il y a les forums. Passages des cables tres propres, nombreuses baies pour les disques. LED pour PWR ou HDD dommage. Deux emplacements SSD sous la CM mais il faut retirer la CM si on veut en ajouter ou en retirer, pas pratique. Ventilateurs basiques pas PWM (3 pins) dommage, mais tres silencieux a mi puissance et pas de soucis de ventilation. Reglage en facade peu visible, mieux que le NOCTUA PWM que j'ai ajoute. Bien mais peu mieux faire.

Case fantastico e consegna eccellente e puntuale.imballaggio perfetto e il contenuto è arrivato senza nemmeno un graffio.Se state cercando un case silenzioso e allo stesso tempo con una buona ventilazione scegliete questo.fantastico anche il pannello windowed!

Super produit, très bien conçu et j'ai meme pu mettre mon gros noctua NH-D14 sans problème. Bien pensé pour le cablage.Je recommande.
