Beginner's Guide to Sculpting Characters in Clay Paperback – 20 April 2017

I bought 2 of these - one for each son - I liked what it showed me in the pages we can look @ b4 buying - so decided to get it, as if not good - can always send bk, but certainly No Chance of that happening - I was totally blown away - both my sons Loved it, both model with clay. This book has a lot of help in it - nothing difficult to understand. I was super impressed by the thickness of the book as well - I did not really expect this quality - I know it wasn't cheap - but I have bought something for myself b4 @ this price, and with a lot less good info to help. Seriously going to get another for myself as well. Thanks to the Author for such a Brilliant Book.

I could not have asked for a better book to start with it is just filled with examples and the tools of what you will need and why. The examples shown are inspiring and make you want to pick up your clay straight away. I bought this because I am new to sculpting and I wanted to know how to make armatures and how to achieve certain effects and details to which this book explains perfectly.

A fascinating look at many of the techniques and materials used in sculpting. Lots of top quality pictures of some amazing artwork that really gets the creative juices flowing, and lots of examples to work along to for practice. The only limitation is many of the topics that are good for beginners (materials, tools etc) are covered in only a paragraph or 2 each, but more information is readily available on the internet and the book will point you in the right direction for the medium of your choice.

This is a brilliant book with several designs to have a go yourself. The instructions are clear and is is a thoroughly excellent book. It deals with plastic clays as opposed to water clay, but the principle is the same. Thank you again.

This book is a Bible for beginners with clay model making. In depth coverage of a wide array of tools, clay types, techniques, and generally just a fountain of knowledge.

Really good book for the beginner. Solid with alot of star by step instructions. Also projects you can do again with step by step guidelines. Well worth the money

Detailed and informative. I've yet to start an actual sculpture, but have got the beginnings of a stock of clay and tools, so won't be long before I try something.
