Best toaster in 50 years of toasting.... seriously. I'm serious about toast.
I really, really, like toast. Good toast. Lovely golden colour, evenly toasted, crisp on the outside, bread still slightly soft in the centre, allowed to cool for a moment... then a generous spread of butter. Mmmm! The best toast is made under a grill, but grills are too slow, expensive and energy innefficient for 1 or 2 slices. So toaster it is. For 50 years I have been trying to find the perfect toaster (not all the time but whenever I needed a new one, you know) - never happened, even the v. expensive ones couldn't match the grill.(Money wasted)How hard can it be? Most of the toasters I have had have found new and creative ways to mess up a simple task i.e. making toast - e.g. uneven, one side more toasted than the other, burnt or underdone whilst using the same setting, stripes, bread does not fit, (yes really) and my favourite - all of the above whilst launching your breakfast across the kitchen straight into the dogs mouth (savvy and waiting for it). So..Old uneven toasting toaster dies - just outside warranty of course, I'm searching around and come across the Daewoo.OK.. looks intersting, like the looks and the avoidance of the tiny, v thin metal elements in most toasters, actually the elements look more like a GRILL! Intrigued.OK it's £30 lets give it a go.Arrives, (very quickly) put it on for 5 mins to burn in the elements. Then...Made a slice of toast..WHAT? Halleluia! Magnifico! Excelente! Joy and Celebration! TOAST NIRVANA PERFECTION!!50 years of toasting quests have been satisfied. Thankyou Daewoo - you geniuses! As you can probably tell I would recommend this toaster. In brief:Stylish good looks.Well made and finishedFits breadMakes REALLY GOOD toastComparable to grill toastIts NOT SLOW - toast in under two mins.Actually OK to clean (for toasters)I note a couple of other reviewers have not had quite the same experience as me - this may be due to a faulty unit and I would recommend getting it replaced so you can enjoy a working model. My other recommendation for all 'toasties' out there is to hit the buy button.

Easy to use.
A little expensive but a great product. Uses halogen lamps to toast bread and clear glass window (removable for cleaning) ensures you get your toast exactly how you want it. Great looking toaster.

Excellent toaster
Many years ago we had a Tefal with radiant bars which was better than other toasters before or since. Found this Dewoo one by chance and it doesn't disappoint. It even has a three year warranty and above all it copes with our home baked stoneground wholemeal bread. This required full heat on our previous toaster and came partly burned and partly too light. This new one does a much better job on about 2/3 power and is quicker. Is there anything they could improve? Well, the browning control knob has a tiny black dimple in the black surface of it to indicate what setting you are on. This can only be seen with a torch! It simply requires a tiny white dot in it to solve the problem. Are you listening Daewoo?I have since discovered that only the inner glass is actually removable so removing crumbs from the reflectors and elements can only be done with a long handles artists' paintbrush through the top slot!

Looks amazing, really works well!
Looks amazing, keeps its shine, removable glass for ease cleaning. Seeing the content heat saves time and money, no more burnt crumpets! Only 2 slices but it heats fast so 4 slices doesn’t take much longer by the time you’ve buttered the first two. Fits nicely into small spaces but performs so well you want to show it off and easiest buttons ever. What’s not to like? Thank you Amazon seller!

Great toaster!
Looks great and the glass panel means your toast etc is always done to perfection. What I like most are the coiled elements like the old electric fires which give a more even rosy than the thin wire ones which never seem to heat up uniformly. And finally a price that is realistic.

FAULTY TOASTER
Do not buy this toaster. It will be a waste of your money! I purchased one for a present , it’s been opened and set up to find it doesn’t work. It doesn’t hold the toast down so physically will not toast your bread. Very frustrating, even more so the company (Daewoo) are not willing to refund or return the toaster & Amazon won’t help either. Don’t waste your money

Its ok, just not great.
I was hoping to get a toaster that would take my nice Salisbury's brown bread slices (the ones with a huge bulge on the head) and it does (just) if you put 1 slice in. It will take 2 hovis white slice but they don't toast quite to the top if you stand them on end, so put one on its side and one in normal (two on their side wont fit!) gets you one completely toasted and one with a small white strip at the top. OMG, why is is it so hard to make a toaster that actually toasts bread sizes you can buy. Anyways seeing the toast brown is cool for about a week and helps you dial in the exact number you want for your toast. After which you really don't need a viewing window. The way it browns means you get even toasting on thicker bread, but on bagels or thin bread which seem to rest at a diagonal inside the slot they get a gradient of brown. Its killing my OCD to watch it :)
