Vox - Pathfinder 10 - 10W Electric Guitar Combo Amplifier

Firstly, I all about the aesthetics. It's the best looking amp in the price range, beautiful vintage look, and feels quality. A Chunky 7kg. Light enough to carry about, but not some flighty empty box, feels rock solid. Better than I imagined. I really the half open back which allows the sound to permeate out and around....fills the room easily, louder than what I expected turned up....you could do a small cafe/bar gig I reckon! Buttons on top all Rick solid, pretty much indestructible bit of Kit! Thought I'd prefer an amp with buttons on front for tech flexing for visitors! But I love this clean vintage front look now, I'm real happy this is my first amp! PJ Harvey uses Vox amps too! Massive ones!(Orange crush too).....the open back of this beaut allows you put your picks, lead, bits and pieces (chocolate,cigs/lighter!) in back and carry)move around safely, they won't fall out as deep 3 inch edge.....I bought this for the vintage look, and warm sound......it looks cool, and it's the only small "home/garage/cafe amp I wouldn't feel serif self conscious carry about in public as a beginner guitarist! Because people who don't know it's a guitar amp will just think it looks cool. I checked out every single amp and review and video you can imagine..... hundreds! This won. You will not be disappointed for £58!.....I'll probably try the equivalent size orange crush next in a year, or Fender Champion which are a bit more expensive.....but it's not necessary.

There's nothing not to like about this amp... despite it's size (which isn't that small) it's got the true VOX sound through and through on both modes and all levels... Great chimey cleans with nice crunchy rock over drive too. The delivery was very fast and so early I was shocked. Came well packaged and delivered by UPS, which was a bonus as opposed to Royal Mail. A great amp for beginners, intermediates and pros. Sounds great when the volume is low for practice and sounds even better when the volume is cranked up. Awesome buy. The build is great and quite heavy when compared to the average overpriced modelling amps of similar wattage and some (trust me I've had a few! Lol) and still built to last many, many years and small gigs too if miked up for extra ear crunching punch!! A VOX and a few pedals is all you need and will still probably come to around half the price when compared to those toy practice modelling amps out there that are all the rage at the moment. Overall, awesome bargain. Every guitarist needs a VOX just for the sheer delightl of it! If in doubt get the VOX out!! Happy Rocking or Rolling and just crank up the volume and enjoy the VOX sound of whatever you're into!!

Really pretty looking amplifier and quality build. I think the price is good and the sound is nice. It is easy to use.. I play with a strat through the overdrive channel or with a fuzz pedal going throught the clean channel..the tone nobs are very responsive and a good EQ can be built. VOX's reputation is well deserved

I bought this amp as a beginner guitar player, and I’m very happy with it. It’s small, light, and easy to carry around. It has a simple design and a classic Vox look. You can also add effects, such as reverb, chorus, delay, etc. I’ve modded mine with a new speaker, a bigger cabinet, and a reverb tank. It sounds amazing, and it looks awesome. It’s like a mini Vox AC30 now. I’ve learned a lot about electronics and guitar amps in the process, and I’ve had a lot of fun doing it. It’s a great hobby and a great way to customize your sound. Overall, this is a great little amp for beginners and modders. It’s affordable, reliable, and easy to use. It sounds good for its size and price, and it has a decent range of tones. It’s also very easy to mod, and you can make it sound and look even better. It’s a perfect gift for anyone who loves guitar and DIY. It’s awesome for the money. Sounds good, even better when adding an eq pedal before going into the input to pull out a bit of mud and add some presence. Top panel I have treble set at 10 o’clock, bass at 2 o’clock. Gain up about half way and volume about 9 oclock. Gives it a really chimey clean tone. Then I add an overdrive pedal to replicate a bit of breakup. It takes pedals well. I would advise getting a reverb pedal as the amp doesn’t have it. This will be my jamming at home and teaching amp, because it sounds really good. I am highly impressed.

I'm old - and fell in love with the VOX sound very early in my guiar playing journey. In 1967, I managed to buy a second hand VOX AC 30 for £55 which a sold and bought a 50 watt Selmer Zodiac valve amp. Although I went on to use a selection of guitar amps and amp simulator pedals I always tried to recapture the VOX sound in my head and failed. After reading reviews and watching demos on YouTube which don't do the Pathfinder justice, I parted with some hard earned cash for the little 10 watt amp. When I'd unboxed it my first reaction was that it looks amazing with the calssic VOX look. When switched on and a Strat plugged in ...... I had the sound back. These are a great little amp, louder and clearer than I expected. There is no reverb built in but I use a VOX StompLab 1G which has loads of effects to play with. If you are reading this, you must be thinking of getting a Pathfinder - stop thinking and just buy one, you won't be dissapointed.

Completely speechless that this was just 50 quid! When I opened the box and took it out and looked hard, it defies me how they could make such a great looking and sounding amp and sell it so cheap. I put this pathfinder 10 alongside my Marshall MS2 (all plastic, crackly knobs, feels cheap as, cost £28) just to make things even more stark on how good the Vox is. Ok, so it looks great, but how does it sound? Turned it on... nothing. Silence. No hum, no nothing. I genuinely though it was broken, as my expectation of all amps is the usual humming you get, but the PF10 turned on is just silent. After plugging it in and playing on both clean and crunch channels, I still cannot get my breath just how good it is. Just spend some time on it, gently dialing in various tones - it's bloody fantastic! Yes, it's not a tube amp, yes it's not 100 watts and yes, it was made in Vietnam, but quite frankly who cares with something at this price can sound so good. The cleans are brilliant and just throw something like a Boss SD1 or tubescreamer in front of the crunch channel and it sings. Don't worry that there isn't an FX loop, it takes all pedals really well - all modulation effects like chorus and delay don't get muddy at all. My only criticism of this brilliant little thing is that it has no reverb. If it had that, it would have been perfect. But a reverb pedal will come to rescue on that point. For around 50 pounds, this amp has got to be the best of its type around.

Good things really do come in small packages. I have been really impressed by both the tones and volume offered by this little amp. I did wonder if the lack of a 'mid' control would limit the tonal range, but this has not been the case. I play a Shergold Masquerader and an Alden Colonel, both very different types of guitar, the Shergold being more for rock and the Alden more for jazz. The Vox delivers really pleasing tones for both, the overdrive and 'gain' control being particularly useful for the Shergold. Volume is more than adequate for practicing and more than enough to annoy the neighbours! I think possibly you could even use it in a small hall. The amp is well built, sturdy but not too heavy and really lives up to the Vox name, even if it is not built in the UK. I love the chicken knobs and the classic Vox look, everything about it just says 'quality'. Complaints? Some might find the lack of reverb and an input for an iPod an issue. But my effects pedal takes care of the reverb and for £50, what do you want? I would definitely recommend this great amp to other guitarists.

Bellissimo esteticamente e un suono incredibilmente “grande” nonostante le sue dimensioni ridotte. Anche con la chitarra semi acustica i bassi non mancano. Per esercitarmi in casa è diventato un gioiello immancabile.

Belle esthétique et finition soignée. En revanche la puissance est limite, la projection n'est pas géniale.

Ho comprato un amplificatore vox da 10W per chitarra elettrica adatto quindi ad un uso domestico. Il prodotto è arrivato intatto e nei tempi prestabiliti e mi ha piacevolmente stupito andando oltre le aspettative. VALUTAZIONE DEL PRODOTTO: Questo piccolo amplificatore si presenta molto bene: ha un design vintage e delle rifiniture davvero di pregio. Ma la cosa più importante è il suono e la qualità dello stesso. Infatti, con l'amplificatore vox da 10w mi sto trovando davvero bene. È molto semplice da usare. Infatti ha solo 2 canali: pulito e distorto, un controllo sul gain, sul volume bassi e treble e volume complessivo. Infine, il volume in uscita può competere tranquillamente con un 15 watt soprattutto con la distorsione inserita. Ma la cosa più importante è che il suono, secondo il mio punto di vista, è impeccabile: nessun fruscio, nessun rumore, il cono non gracchia in nessuna configurazione. Il canale "pulito" è molto performante e rende i classici suoni che contraddistinguono questo marchio. Per studio ho già un Peavey da 15w con diversi canali e molti effetti. Ma dopo aver provato la qualità dei suoni vox posso dire che comprerei di nuovo un vox in un possibile prossimo acquisto. Per le ragioni sopra dette consiglio assolutamente l'acquisto di questo amplificatore.
