Best watch in its class
This watch is excellent - you could not do better for the price or twice the price. I've had it for over a year and it has seen more expensive and fancier watches come and go for the following reasons:+ It is 100% accurate+ It is easy to read the time + date + day of the week (easier than any other waveceptor I'm aware of and I've owned others)+ It is light (because the case is made of plastic with a stainless steel protector/facade+ Unobstrusive - can be worn under shirt sleeve(only 11mm thick which is pretty much the thinnest you can get a waveceptor or any other "atomic" watch at the moment)+ Other functions are easy to use(such as world time which I have used on several occasions)+ Month/Day date config can be changed between UK/US format+ It looks great despite the pricetag+ It is robust without being annoyingly bulky and odd looking (g-shock - I'm looking at you here). I've done all sorts of DIY in this (including getting it covered in cement) but it has survived everything I've thrown at it.+ Good light for night readingONLY negative:It's not solar powered which means that I will either have to replace the battery in a few years or will have to chuck it and get another of the same model (if it still exists then). This, however, is not the watch's fault and reduces the amount of functions which can go wrong so could be construed as a positive!CASIO TAKE NOTE: if you make this exact watch with tough solar (without making the watch thicker or bulkier), you would have yourself a watch that blows all other of this class out of the water (in my humble opinion).I traditionally though that a watch with a plastic body was tacky and put off wearing the watch, favouring more showy models - but I love this because it means the watch is light so really don't mind it. It also means that the watch has no problem picking up the radio signal it needs to calibrate itself. I have heard complaints about the strap which I found relatively tricky to adjust but once adjusted, it is light unobtrusive. If you buy it for the right reasons - this is one watch purchase you will never regret.

was delivered promtly sturdy and well packaged
was delivered promtly sturdy and well packaged , this is an excellent watch and i have owned one before, they give very good value for money , The watch is constructed with a stainlees steel case and strap the clasp secures well and has to be pressed on both sides to release it , which make for a secuce feel when wearing it , it has several good functions which include a good size face , all the information you need on a daily basis is clearly visable during the day and at night it has a very bright blue back light making it easy to read in the darkest conditionstime day date year is displayed all the time , it also has the satalite icon showing , which indicates that it is updated automatically throughout the day and night this also changes the time when the clocks chage,For travelling purposesthere is a function that will show a second time in other capital cities around the world, allowing for both times to be availabe at the touch of a button making it easy to know the local time and the time at home should it be required for business etc. This watch also has a stopwatch and includes a lap time function, the watch has shock proof glass and i can confirm from experience that the glass will stand up to every day knocks very wellthe watch is very simple to set upas stated at the start of this review this is a very very good watch for the price range it sits in

Really good watch but.....
PROS -Accurate time every day. I listen to the BBC World Service and hear their beeps on the hour. I had to correct my previous Casio by as much as 30 seconds every so often, so it's quite a delight to hear the BBC's final beep indicating the hour and to see that this wave ceptor is exactly on time every day. It's nice and big and very easy to see the time without having to squint. The price is very reasonable.CONS -The reset on the stopwatch has been assigned to the the top left button. On my previous watch (DB150) It used to be top right which is so much more accessible. One just had to press the stop button with index finger. Move that same finger quarter of an inch and press the top right button to instantly reset. On the wave ceptor, it's so much more awkward as the the thumb has to be used to press the top left button and it's really just a bad piece of design. The hourly beep and alarm beeps are ridiculously quiet. My DB 150 must have been at least twice as loud as this. Would think that in today's technological age, the volume could be adjusted on such a thing and I have seen many others complain of this same problem. The countdown timer counts down from only an hour. There are many times I have the need of counting down for more than an hour and since previous watches all had this capability, I can't understand why Casio chose to reduce this to only an hour. The same is true of the stopwatch. I take many long walks and, with my trusty DB 150 would start the stopwatch at the beginning and it would give me an accurate idea of how long I had walked - up to 24 hours I believe. With the wave ceptor, I'm afraid it's almost useless for any walks more than an hour and to be expected to note each hour passing defeats the whole purpose of having a stopwatch. It's really quite incomprehensible that Casio would make its watches LESS functional each year. Doesn't make any sense at all.Despite these cons, I would still have no hesitation in recommending this watch but wish that Casio would consider increasing the volume of the alarms and have the stopwatch and countdown both go beyond their limited 60 mins.UPDATEAnother small complaint. If I was using say, the alarm, or countdown timer and had finished with them, my previous DB 150 would, after a few minutes revert back to the current time. Unfortunately, this one stays in the mode you have selected until you choose to press the button and move back to the time mode. Which, in some cases, might be better but, in general terms, it's not.

What a good watch
I have just bought this Casio Waveceptor watch and it looks really good. I did a manual update on it and other changes and it works very well. I just need to have some links removed to make it fit. The display is very clear.
