Not really what i wanted but can be used.

Sehr gute Battle Mat. Die Kästchen haben zwar 3cm Seitenlänge, statt 2,54cm (=1 Inch) und es war ein kleiner Druckfehler drin (der Filz hatte an einem Kästchen zwei Linien nur unterbrochen angenommen) aber das kann man durchaus ignorieren, wenn man nicht pingelig ist.

This mat is absolutely amazing! It is the perfect size for Frostgrave, and it makes both the miniatures and the terrain more stable from how my game went. The detail on the mat is quite cool when you look closely at it. It has blotches of black and darker grey, breaking up the flat tone. I highly recommend this for D&D, Pathfinder, and or any miniature games you can think.

While you cannot use markers on this battle mat, there are alternative methods for displaying boundaries. Strips of paper, etc. The reason I really wanted this battle mat is for outdoor encounters in D&D. Now, the archers can actually make use of their range.The mat measures 78" and a bit by 40" and a bit, several inches more than the advertised 6'x3' which is a plus for me. The grid itself is 68 tiles by 34 tiles. The Grey tones are easy on the eyes and blend with whatever kind of encounter you want to run, while the bold black borders are easy to see.I do wish the tiles were 1" instead of 1.1" but that is hardly a large drawback. It means losing out on 6 tiles by width and 10 tiles in length, but those are acceptable losses for me.--- New review edit ---The grid squares being 1.1" is actually a bit bigger of a problem than I initially anticipated. It really hampers playing with any D&D setpieces or templates for areas of effect.If a mat of this size were released with 1" squares and a dry-erase surface, it would be an instant buy for me.

I did not realize that this battle mat was not writeable. Otherwise it would have been perfect.
