Two large dogs, and surrounded by Moorland, and rough farmland. Ours dogs inevitably come back from their walks with bits of bramble, mud and debris in their coats. Can be a nightmare as the Setter hates being brushed. Our Lab has a thick double coat and thankfully enjoys being brushed and pampered. After a number of years dealing with matted and knotted coats (despite our best efforts) this dematting rake is a revelation. Gentle and so easy to use on both dogs. Even the Setter is very happy that we have purchased this high quality rake, and is looking so very smart now.This is a brilliant tool, and works a treat. Matted hair, and knots are no longer a problem.I have also purchased another rake for our daughters Beardie Collie who lives on a farm. It is just fantastic for keeping her in tip top condition.I highly recommend this rake to everyone, no matter what breed of hairy chum you have. You will not regret your purchase.

Tricky one this. its a good quality product with a gel handle that I cant stop playing with. I've got some real clumps of fur on my Persian cat and although this does de clump the dead hair, my cat wont stay still long enough. lolUpdate.......Well it's been nearly a year since purchase.Overall they are better than the average cat brush, but at some point i got a tiny hole in the handle, and now most of the gel had come out.They can't ready get rid of huge clumps of fur. I still need to use scissors.I would say that they are possibly a little over priced.

Does what it says very well. I have a persian cat and this is the first product that has helped with the menace of daily brushing. Unlike other brushes I feel the design helps remove excess hair better and my cat has never looked better after. The grip is soft and comfortable. I am still confused about the real difference between the two sides of the rake, either seems to do the job but I guess this may be more evident for larger pets. This is a recommended Buy from my perspective.

Very good maybe cut big knots first and hold the hair at the root whilst brushing so doesn’t pull. used on long haired Persian

My elderly persian cat developed some areas of matted hair and I found it difficult to remove them. I bought this brush and it removes matted hair with such ease! I would really recommend buying this brush!

A bit scary looking and very expensive, maybe stick to a brush

My 9 month old long-haired German Shepherd was looking like he was wearing pantaloons when we were out walking him. I was thinking about taking him to a professional groomer, but at only 9 months that would mean taking him every 7 months or so and would work out very expensive. His 6 inch long hair is still 6 inches long, but the rake has thinned it out greatly and it no longer blooms out the side of his tail anywhere near as much as it did. Now I can just put it away until the next time! I think this is going to work out as a great cost saving buy.

I bought this three months ago in frustration and desperation. My cat has a dense furry coat and it was becoming impossible to maintain it. It doesn’t help that she hates having her hair brushed, combed or even touched. It was so bad we had to wait until she was a sleep and sneak in with scissors to cut out the mats. Anyway, even though she still hates being brushed, the GoPets Dematting Rake has made no end of difference to the condition of her coat. I realised ( during today’s fight) that she has no mats in her coat and this is a first for us and despite coming through the end of winter into summer. I use it every day until the squirming and hissing is intolerable, this is less than a minute. I’m so impressed and pleased that I thought to come back and give a review. This brush/rake gets a “highly recommended” from me.

Anyone searching for a solid deshed/detangle brush. This thing is amazing, I watch a groomer on my Instagram who used something similar to this on two dogs with similar coats to my Malinois and it worked great for him.Mika's coat is FOREVER shedding and we were having a hell of a time finding a brush that would do anything to help. This one has two sides (fine/coarse) and the tips are rounded for the dogs comfort.While I could brush Mika for hours and probably still pull fur out...this thing made quick work of the heavy stuff! AND it got to the pesky undercoat. I had a Pomeranian and half worth of fur after brushing her out and it only took about 15-20 minutes. Wish I did a before and after!Only con may be that it loads up with fur pretty quick...but most every comb/brush will do that. The hair does pull out super easy from the brush.

This de-shedding tool is amazing. I can't believe we went this many years grooming our cats without this. A word of advice: This tool is designed for cats with long, thick hair and will not work so well on cats with short and medium hair. The best approach for removing matted hair is to start with the eleven toothed side until the tool moves freely through the hair. Progress to the twenty three toothed side afterward. If there are still areas of matted hair remaining, remove them with a super fine toothed de-shedding tool like a furmanator. Thanks to this tool, our yard now looks like a herd of Yaks have been living there, and our coffees now have considerably less hair.

Did the job! It will take a few sessions to get out all the knots, but worked better than expected

HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend this product. I have three cats one of whom has had matted fur for several months. We’ve tried every brush you can think of he would fight. This brush cleared the matted fur with no problem and my cat loved being groomed by this brush. My other two cats who hate being groomed, purred and nuzzled further into the brush.
