Great for researching certain families
Started out as a good read, but quickly became little more than a list of family names. My family is too obscure to be among them.

I ordered the pamphlet/ book to help me find more information regarding my family ties to Scotland/Ireland. I thought it would provide more documentation about the `Clearances' that occurred between Scotland and Ireland during famine, wars and land grabs that displaced thousands of people. The names that are provided would be useful to those seeking possible family names of immigrants from Scotland and Ireland who came to this country during the 18th century. It would be useful if you already know of the ancestral family name(s)..

It OK
It is a pretty good reference but does not appear to be all that inclusive. I was suprised that it did not list my family's name given the fact that my 5th greatgrand father fought at Londendary and went on to fight with Willian of Orange at the Battle of Boyne.

Thin but informative.
This is a very thin book, but had a couple of listings that might be in my family tree. I would look forward to similar books that give more listings.

Glencoe Massacre
This book is about my ancestors. I find it very interesting. My ancestors were the ones killed in Glencoe.

Some Scots-Irish Links
My family (both sides) were here almost from the beginning but Dobson has overlooked all four families, why? I 'll admit I was unhappy.
