Great way to keep the wooden parts from going down by your motor

This was a great addition to my table saw, having the zero clearance with less tear out than it's stock insert. It does come with screws/machine that you will have to drill into your table saw to ensure that the zero clearance plate will remain in it's place. It was a little nerv racking at first but now it pretty much just lives on my table saw.

This is less rigid than the original insert plate that comes with the saw. With small pieces, you have to consider that the insert plate might dip down depending on the downward pressure you apply to your stock. It is also height adjustable, so getting a perfect fit takes a few minutes. I found I have to keep the back about 0.5mm higher than the table to prevent wood catching on the outfeed side of the table. I leave it in the saw almost all the time. That this plate costs 7% the cost of an entire new table saw is kind of distressing to me.

This fit as it should and was easy to adjust to get it flat. I keep this on my saw for most projects without issues.

Careful when buying the zero clearance insert - its horrible. The ratings here are combined with the saw, which is great. The insert is thin plastic and flexes compared to the solid metal original part. The screw holes it tells you to drill don't line up well and end up breaking out due to thin metal that remains when you try to put in the screws. The screws themselves break easily. Yes - I followed instructions and made sure to line up drill/mount holes on insert. Overall just a bad part, do not buy it. I went back to the original part. Get some of third party tape that you can put over the existing insert.
