I've been model-making for years, but recently learned about casting using silicone molds and resins as a way for me to make duplicates of what I make. After watching several tutorials I bought myself a vacuum pump and this vacuum pump& chamber to degass my silicone solutions and resins.It all shipped well-packaged and came with everything you need to get started with degassing liquids. Accessories included some thick vacuum hose that's about 2.5 ft long, a ¼" connector for fitting to your vacuum pump, a wrench for tightening/loosening the nuts and some sealing tape for the joints. There was also a silicone liner for the vacuum chamber itself so any splashes or over spill won’t stick to the stainless steel of the chamber itself.The chamber itself is quite thick, and certainly stands up to pulling strong vacuums without any warping or buckling. This is a perfect size for doing volume molding or similar projects using silicone or resins. The lid makes its own seal against the chamber rim and has 2 valves (one to the vacuum pump, one to the air) and a pressure gauge. There's just enough room to see through the clear part of the lid what's happening inside - when degassing silicone you can see once the bubble start to collapse and "roll" meaning it’s time to remove from the vacuum and get ready to pour.Everything is really easy to use, and it reaches the vacuum required to fully degas quickly, which is important for some silicone that I use that have a short working time before they start to cure. One thing to note is that the gauge on the lid of the chamber has a rubber plug that you should remove before you start to pull a vacuum, otherwise it could be damaged. There's a big sticker on there to remind you so it's hard to forget!For a first vacuum chamber I'm really pleased with this. It hold the vacuum well, it seems well-made and robust!

Decent pump, liquid filled gauge easy to calibrate to air pressure, downside was it came with a euro style plug, so had to get a suitable adaptor, works great tho, if your in the uk, search for one with the uk plug

I have been using a vacuum pump to degas liquid epoxy for a chemical engineering project for several years. Last month it failed, so I have to purchase a new one. After extensive research, I found that the BACOENG 3 Gallon Vacuum Chamber Kit received high ratings by customers and the price was quite attractive. I received the kit only two days after placing the order. The vacuum pump is small which makes the stage for my old look bigger. But it is amazing that such a small pump is more powerful than my old one. The gas bubbles in epoxy disappear in several seconds. It does not generate smoke. One tricky thing here is to press the lid when the pump starts in order to vacuum the chamber faster. Applying vacuum grease on the o-ring is also helpful. I am quite satisfied with the hose strengthened with steel string. In this way, the hose still holds its shape with high vacuum. I like the kit very much.The pump is quite powerful to remove bubbles in the epoxy. After curing, my epoxy is truly bubble-free (I embedded two sample in it)! I am quite satisfied with this kit!

double pronged plug provided to the UK ???? That has now cost me time and earnings I needed to use this yesterday.

I have been impressed so far with the duralbility of this product.From vacuum clamping fibreglass to helping solve a brake bleeding problem on a car it has functioned excellently.The customer service also seems excellent.I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone wanting a vacuum pump/chamber for a reasonable cost.

This is a great bit of kit. Does what it says and great quality and speedy delivery.This kit did come with oil, but I did buy extra in case that it didn’t, but will use as a backup if ever needs changedUsed this a number times now, to add resin into wood for turning.. left at full pressure for 24hrs and did not lose any pressure at all..Well worth it

I purchased the vacuum chamber for stabilizing wood as there was no advisory against it in the manual or description. Upon using it the resin reacted with the acrylic lid. I contacted BACOENG explaining my situation and they gave me a full refund and sent out a new lid as a replacement.I was also informed that they will have a glass lid specifically designed for the kind of work i needed it for in a few months. A perfect example of a company listening to customer needs and acting all round honourably. I'll be purchasing a bigger chamber when i need to upgrade and i'll snapping up the new glass lid as soon as it's released.Very happy chappy :)
