Dbmier 17.8 Inch (Diagonal) USB Mode A4 LED Artcraft Tracing Light Pad Light Box (A4S) - With 78.74" USB Cord and 10 Pieces of Tracing Paper

Very good light [3 settings] - makes it extremely good for tracing - have been using it to trace printed photographs [on standard printing paper] and the light intensity ideal for this purpose. The surface of the unit has good friction and holds the paper well - very nice size sits well on the lap and table and accommodates A4 paper with room to spare. From these points of view, I would give the unit 5 stars - But:-I have had considerable trouble connecting the USB cable to the unit - the female end in the unit is slightly skew so it is difficult to connect the USB cable without applying too much pressure. I have had this problem with mobile phones in the past and have had the connection fail - both in the cable end and eventually in the unit. Clearly one mustn't be too heavy handed!! I have only had the unit a few days but it is obvious to me that I will also have to be careful moving the unit abruptly when connected or indeed moving the unit with the cable in situ ie: in the unit but not connected to the wall/computer. It is too easy for too much pressure to be applied to the connection in general use in my opinion. That said this is a common problem with such small and precise types of 'plugins'.

Bought this for my animal design workshops since not all of my students are able to draw. If you are looking to use this in a place where you wont be disturbing other people then I think this will be really good since it gives off a bright light that is easily adjusted, However if you will be using it around others there could be a problem as the makers didn't think to make the edges opaque so they give off a very bright light that is extremely distracting and quite annoying so I will have had to find a way to block that before I can use it in my workshops. The only other negative comment is the on off switch is right by the work surface so its very easy to switch it off unintentionally so that could have been better positioned otherwise it does what it says on the tin and looks reasonably well made.

I found this was perfect for viewing slides and I could fit 24 on the pad to have a quick look at them to see what ones I wanted to study in detail.My only moan, and this is why I've only given it four instead of five stars, is the USB port where you plug the power lead into didn't seem very secure and I can see that this might fail in time leaving me with an unusable item. However, so far so good,

I wasn't expecting much but I love this thing.It has some kind of static that keeps the paper still which is really useful.It bends a little, sounds bad but if it was brittle I would have leant on this too hard and broke it by now.I pulled the lightbox too hard once and yanked at the cable, it started to flicker, figured I had broken the charger port but it turns out I just damaged the wire thankfully.Changed the wire and it works perfectly, not only that, I have done the same thing twice.I use some simple foldback clips to keep my paper and wire in place from now on.Honestly, I am impressed by the brightness, I can shine this through 425g/m2 watercolour paper and had a rough line to follow.And it is up to taking a bit of abuse. So for the price it is absolutely brilliant.

I bought this just over a year ago (October 2015). The cable connection was extremely wonky from the start so that the light kept going on and off all the time. I haven't used it for a while and tried to use it again today. Now it (of course) doesn't work at all probably due to the wonky cable connection. Very disappointed with this item, couldn't do what I wanted to do today and will not buy this item again. I'm curious to know if other people have had this problem.

An excellent light box/ pad. 3 settings of brightness which covers most media and ideal for inter posing several drawings into one great collage, also a handy practice tool for those of us that lack true drawing ability.Highly recommended as a super drafting aid.

I bought this to scan negatives with my DSLR camera. Somebody in the question section asked whether a grid or dots are visible when scanning and user "LeonT" answered that the grid pattern is not visible and the item is suitable for scanning. Clearly that is not the case and grid patterns show up on almost every photo. Disappointed and returning the item.Otherwise the brightness was good and the cable length was very satisfactory.

For the money, this is a great little product. I have a £200 LED lightbox and I'm using this more. To be fair the expensive one will probably last longer, but it hasn't failed me yet and is so lightweight.
