Excellent product at a good price.
I ordered at 10-pack of aluminum .38 special snap caps. These sturdy metal "rounds" are exactly the size and shape of .38 special ammunition. They are very well made, and appear to be very solid and durable. After cycling them a number of times through my SP101 revolver, the silicone "primers" are unmarked. My impression is that these snap caps are far superior to A-Zoom or Tipton -- and the price is right as well. PS: Very prompt shipping, too, well ahead of schedule.

Not the same weight as live ammo, but that's the best part!
I'll start out by saying that these snap caps are NOT the same weight as live ammunition for a .38, but that is the benefit of training with them as far as I've found out.I bought 2 10-packs to have enough to train with since I got me my first revolver. I even included some speed strips and a speed loader in my order to try my hand on fast reloads should I ever need to.I'll must say that using a speed loader and the speed strips were a little difficult since live ammo is heavier and a lot more dense than the aluminium snap caps (they won't slide into the cylinder very gracefully), so speed loading with both the speed strips and speed loader proved a little difficult. When I got to the range though, I saw the benefit almost immediately! The little catches and hang ups I had with the snap caps were non-existent when loading live ammo, and therefore I even impressed myself with how fast I was able to load my new, little gun. :)These are great for practice, and if you can get even a little decent in speed loading with these, you'll find live ammo will take little to no effort in comparison!

I got these because I have a 7-shot revolver, ...
I got these because I have a 7-shot revolver, and most snap cap packs come in 6. These are decent for reload practice if you normally use light 130 gr bullets or Poly-blend 70ish gr. If you carry full weight 38 spls then these will be too light to accurately practice with. The rubber in the snap caps has held up to about 200 dry fires each. They become a little unseated after the first 2 or 3 dry fires but haven't moved since.

If the edge was mildly radiused these would be great.
Fit and function was ok, worked with my safariland speedloaders and tuffstrips. My main criticism is that the flat face leave a hard, sharp edge that will scratch up the side of your gun when practicing reloads with a speedloader. If the edge was mildly radiused these would be great.

Unrealistic & Limited Use
The external profile of these in .357 do not match a real case of a typical cartridge. The case does not have the groove found at the base of a real .357 cartridge, just forward of the case rim, so one cannot use these with moon clips.Additionally, the "case" rim and the front edge of the "bullet" are machined with sharper edges than any .357 cartridge I've ever seen, making use with an HKS speed loader a bit "sticky," both in the insertion of the snap caps into a revolver cylinder (and thereby making it easier to scrape the edge of the cylinder entrance or the ejector with the unfinished aluminum snap cap) and in the release of the snap caps from the speed loader. So, if you want to drop them, carefully, by hand, into the cylinder of a revolver for safe dry-fire, they will work. But if you want to practice combat drills and fast reloads with moon clips or speed loaders, buy the more expensive, maroon-colored ones. That's what I'll go do now.

Great value snap caps.
Great value snap caps. I use these to break in the trigger on my Charter Arms Mag Pug 357 after I broke the transfer bar dry firing it. Not sure how or why that happened because it shouldn't on a firearm with a transfer bar. So far I am very happy with these snap caps.

Good product.
Been using these to work a revolver I had cerakoted. The action was tough. after 100 trigger pulls, all it well. One thing. the rubber on the end now has an indent in it that might not allow the hammer to be cushioned as well as when new. Also, the weight of the product is not the same as a loaded bullet. Over all, I am happy with these snap caps and would recommend them to friends.

They work well for breaking in your action.
The best way to break in a revolver is to shoot it. The worst thing for my budget is to shoot it. This let's you load up your cylinder and just pull away on that trigger all day every day, breaking in the mechanism. Annoy your friends and loved ones with your incessant dry firing.
