The lamp has a sturdy, heavy base with a felt bottom so that it doesn't damage the surface it is on. It is heavy enough so that the lamp isn't too easy to knock over. The lamp arm is solidly constructed from rubberwood, and looks great in person. There are provided wingscrews and metal and rubber washers, and I had no problem assembling the lamp with the included diagrammatical instructions. The joints are solid, and dont move too easily once the wingnuts are tightened. I didn't find that I had to tighten them too much to prevent the lamp from drooping. The cable is braided, looks good and feels great quality, and the inline switch rests by the base of the lamp and so is easy to find. The included bulb is perfect for a reading lamp/desk lamp - it is a low power led but with a warmish colour and is decently bright.Overall, the build quality is excellent and the lamp feels like it will last a long time. The included bulb is a nice addition and would work great as a reading lamp. It looks great, works great, and is pretty cheap.

Received this Tomons desk/reading lamp today (next day delivery). Was attracted to the simple design. The arms are made of rubber wood (Hevea brasiliensis), which is a tropical hardwood. I have a dining table made of it and can vouch for it as hard-wearing. It is also ecologically sourced, as it makes use of plantation trees that have already served their purpose.I wasn’t sure how to put it together, but did so, only to find that there are instructions on the underside of the box lid that it comes in. However, I found that I had assembled it correctly. The instructions are diagrammatic and quite easy to follow.The arms stay firmly locked without undue tightening. The base is thin – cast iron for weight – and provides stable support for the lamp. It won’t scratch furniture as it has a felt layer underneath and is excellently finished – I chose white. There’s something of a Zen approach to the design. With the bulb supplied, it is ideal as a reading lamp. The in-line on/off switch is thankfully close to the base, so there is no ‘hunt the switch’ about it. Yes, a very nice desk lamp.

I'm really happy with my Tomons lamp. I wanted a desk lamp that had a modern look as well as being pretty, understated and classic - this is just that! Although it didn't come with instructions on how to put together - it was pretty simple to figure out and I had no trouble getting it together quickly. They also sent me an email with some instructions and contact details in case I had any trouble, but I didn't need to use it. Don't worry about the wood creaking a little when you screw it together, you do have to be tough with it, but it definitely is strong enough to handle it. Make sure you have a low wattage screw in bulb ready to put in it (I'm using a 60W one currently, but 40W would probably be strong enough too).

I bought 2, one white and one gray.Both live are beautiful and the colors are metallic (the white is pearly).They are not perfect, the paint has some small smudges. Especially the gray one came with scratches on the inside. Cleaning it well with GooGone I found it was just dirty.The cable is difficult to adjust. After spending a few minutes cleaning, assembling and adjusting the cable I must say that they are both really beautiful. If it hadn't been for some paint defects I would have given it 5 stars. (Given the not excessive price, around 30 £, can be forgiven).If you are wondering if they can be used with Philips HUE white and color bulbs, the answer is yes, the bulbs fit perfectly. The final effect is very engaging especially with the white lamp

Arrived very attractively packed, giving a high quality impression. Assembled easily once I'd worked out what to do. The base is heavy enough to keep the lamp fully stable with the arm reaching out away from it. There are limited options for setting the angles of the arm segments but I quickly found an arrangement that does exactly what I need. The power lead and the on/off switch feel robust. It is beautiful to look at and very bright light with the bulb supplied.Mine arrived with a cross-threaded wingnut but I contacted the supplier (Inateck) via Amazon and they replaced it immediately and without question.

This is great to use with my grow light due to how heavy and sturdy it is. It’s the only thing I could find that was suitable for the job! Also a very elegant lamp that looks great in the room. Very nicely packaged too. Instructions could have been a bit clearer but it’s pretty self explanatory and very quick and easy to assemble.

Gives bright light ,less of a fire risk than a lamp with a fabric shade which is a dangerous fire risk to move fabric shade so that a clearer light can be shone on a book or newspaper eg being read A fabric shade like that might say a 40 watt bulb is the highest to be used but it is not bright enough and if part of fabric shade is moved very close to bulb then that really is a fire risk even with a low wattage bulb Therefore this lamp ,being adjustable by its wooden jointed swing arm is ideal .It is self assembly but we did need some help with it .

What a stylish and inexpensive little desk lamp. I love it. It came with instructions and took under 2 minutes to assemble. It has smart little rubber washers that, so far, have kept everything in place beautifully and I am particularly smitten with the two tone cable. I bought it for my home office but it looks great in my living room too. Nicely packaged and comes with its own hipster bulb which is a thoughtful touch. Would make a good gift for a student or as a housewarming present. But I am keeping mine. It brings me joy.
