Bought this knowing there were cheaper options ( like I'd purchased before ) and by comparison, this cabling is completely different from the mass produced cheap stuff. The end terminations are all soldered and compression fit, with glue type shrink tubing to weather seal the back of the UHF connections. The cable itself is a much higher quality and lower loss than cheaper RG58-X or RG8-X. What I really found helpful is that this cable is much higher current carrying, with better shielding, while remaining very flexible. I have installed this item in my Jeep and replaced RG58-U cable connecting a HAM radio under the drivers seat, to a dual band antenna at the back of the vehicle. Prior loss was nearly 10 watts over 18 feet. With LMR240, loss was less than 2 watts for the same distance. NICE. - Bolt
