Superb switch with LIFETIME HARDWARE SUPPORT!
I have a number of these switches around the house, and I rate them extremely highly. They are very configurable using the Windows utility or alternatively by a web browser, and offer a range of advanced facilities such as port mirroring and VLAN tagging. Throughput is also full gigabit speeds as expected on all ports after extensive testing. I've never had a single moment of downtime and I operate them in places with wide temperature fluctuations (roof space) with no issues whatsoever. The switch feels like it is well made, and feels like a quality item. This switch comes with a Lifetime Hardware Warranty which is speaks volumes about how reliable the manufacturer considers them to be.Highly recommend this product.

Works fine and is a neater solution with now a little ...
bought to replace 2x 8-port pro switches, needed to support jumbo frames and vlan which this does well. Note that jumbo frames is on by default and cannot be set by user, should say this more clearly in the docs ideally to save user hunting about on the interweb. Works fine and is a neater solution with now a little less draw on the UPS :-)

A 16 port switch with VLAN support and a very simple to manage user interface
This 16 port Netgear smart managed switch offers an abundance of ethernet ports and near prosumer features for a simple home lab setup whilst offering fantastic build quality and silent operation.I have installed multiple Netgear managed switches and whilst this does not boast the features of their higher end models, for a home lab or small business installation the basic VLAN support with tagging and LAG (link aggregation/failover) support is a huge plus and the ease of setup makes this the perfect switch.I would have given this a 5 star rating however given the price point there are limitations to the features of the switch, with Broadcast Forwarding set to dynamic and IGMP snooping enabled, devices would lose connectivity, setting Broadcast Forwarding to hardware mitigates this. The second issue with the unit I received is that the included power supply whines however this isn't so much of an issue if you're not too close to the plug. One thing to note is that if you intend to link multiple managed switches with multiple VLANs, make sure that the switches are given a static IP before setting the trunk ports to (T) on both switches to allow the downstream switch to function on the intended PVID and correctly pass tags.

Well built, great features, no fan and works as plug and play if you’re a beginner to networking.
A great switch for home use. Some will say an unmanaged switch is fine, and it is. However, having more options to control the network is a great asset to have. It worked out of the box, and it’s quality is superb with its all metal casing. 16 ports is plenty for me acting as the main switch where everything consolidates. The web interface is clean and modern looking, and it has VLAN set up options, QoS options, and even a line tester to check your cables.

Solidly build, extremely reliable.
Bought this 16 way to replace an 8 way very reliable bet gear switch to provide Ethernet connectivity through my house to replace powerlink adaptors in each room.Moved the 8 way switch to living room expanding connectivity to smart tv, sky, Roku, PlayStation, etc.No more hiccups with connectivity, full speed connection on all my devices, etc.Very high quality metal build and life warranty (I think) says it all.As a managed switch many options as yet to explore.Extremely happy with it.One little unrelated gripe, the slot holes for wall mounting require small head screws ( the ones supplied are rather short to secure on old thick crumbly plaster) I had to file down the diameter of the heads from much longer screws I used to ensure secure fixing to brickwork.

This was great but no security or fix updates since 12/02/2020
This was a great product, complete with stats on device network usage…… the issue is that since iOS 16 updates the web access (for any Browser) doesn’t work for iPads and iPhones, assuming Apple changed an API. A support request to Netgear to fix this finally came back with web access is not supported for iOS. As an iPhone 7 that only gets security updates for iOS 15.7… still works fine this should be fixable. While this product was sold with lifetime hardware and software support it appears Netgear will no longer fix things or add further security updates… really not acceptable - no further security updates is worrying.

Great little basic managed switch
Great little switch, VLANs can be a little fiddly to setup but other than that it's great, would probably buy another one in the future if I need to. Can definitely recommend this switch, was very painless to setup, pretty much plug and play other than any configuration you may need for your use case (like VLANs)Also excuse the absolute mess that is my networking setup, this is all temporary and it's going to be organised (eventually)

Excellent switch for the price and it's managed too!
This is a very tidy little switch with all of the features you expect in a much higher end device... I have been a network/security engineer for the last 18 years and this type of device is my bread and butter. The downside to this is it is all managed via a web interface, but for the common user this is actually a plus as netgear have designed this to make it as user friendly as possible. It offers all of the basic features of a fully managed switch and it's throughput is much better than the cheaper unmanaged ones I have used in the past. Overall I really like this device.
