We purchased one for our kitchen, and one for the stairs to our basement. Hoping we never need to use them, but they would be very easy to use if we do.

Obviously we bought this to hopefully NEVER use it but I am glad we did as it gives me a sense of calm that it is close by JUST IN CASE!I love that it fits very nicely on the hook portion of my over the door expandable rack that I bought from a bricks and mortar store that rhymes with "Totainer Tore".The blanket (folded up in the "ready" mode) measures 11" x 5.5" by 1.5" deep.

This fire blanket was our way of backing ourselves up due to a pretty old fire extinguisher we have in the kitchen. The last thing we would want to do would be to put out a fire, and realize the fire extinguisher is so old it doesn’t work!The peace of mind that we have a way to smother a fire is worth more gold, because a bad kitchen fire can truly burn an entire house down! The only thing we don’t love about it is the books… We didn’t buy it for style… But at the same time I want it readily available if anything were to ever happen. So we compromised and put it to the side of the fridge, and as a reminder that it’s there if needed.I recommend at least checking this out, and if not for you, think of all the lives it may save one day.

I hope I never have to use it to be completely sure.

I'm so glad that I picked these up as fire is one of those things I never feel truly prepared for if it does happen. I have fire extinguishers and the canned extinguishers but having another line of defense gives me additional piece of mind.The instructions are clear and easy to read/follow. It states that these can be used for kitchen and clothing (person) fires and what to do. I placed on in my garage next to my fire extinguisher and the other near the extinguisher we keep in the kitchen. Having options in case of emergency makes me feel so much better and these are a great option for a variety of fires you may come across (kitchen ones especially can be nasty, especially if your fire extinguisher isn't rated for kitchen!). I'm considering ordering more because these could also be especially useful in a "go" bag or a first aid bag in the car.Just a note that these are designated for single use only. Hopefully they are not needed but good to know in case you do.
