Hi Customer, KTOOM kitchen timer the size of sound is fixed, and this voice sound is big enough that you can hear it in the next room. dont worry about the voice of the digital timer. material is stainless steel .

Q: How do you raise the volumn?

I experimented and discovered the sound comes out of a small hole in the back. When the magnet is used (like on a frig) the hole is covered, which muffles the sound. If you use the built-in prop and sit it on the counter it is about twice as loud. You could perhaps stick it to a flat frig magnet (without covering the hole) you get more sound.

Q: how long does the timer sound after counting down to zero?

The sound from the timer is almost nonexistent it is so faint. I would not order another one of these.
