If you own a compatible smart phone, this is a no brainer.
There are many reviews for this watch out there and there's a lot to cover. All I'll say is this. I own a Casio G Shock that I absolutely love and had no intention of replacing until I encountered the Gear S2. I've owned the S2 for a couple of weeks now and the other day I put the G Shock into long term storage. You'll see plenty of people espousing the virtues of the rotating dial, and they're right to do so. When I'm out and about, I get a message and it's a simple flick of the wrist followed by a quick dial twist to find out who sent it and what it says. Today, it helpfully reminded me of a friend's birthday (which I'd set on my phone a few weeks ago) and throughout the day I get fairly simple, but helpful updates on my activity (number of minutes moving around and steps taken). A quick note about the fitness monitoring aspect of this device; I have no idea how accurate the pedometer actually is, but it's fairly consistent in how it measures in that when I'm at work, I've tended to take a fairly similar number of steps day to day compared to when I've been on a day off and spending a lot of time walking around. The heart rate monitor also appears to be consistent, although I have nothing to measure it against for actual accuracy. There are a whole host of options for measuring activity, but I've not dipped into any of them in any depth as setting it all up seems a bit of a pain. I haven't docked a star for this, only because it tells me enough for my requirements and I'd expect that anyone who really needs to measure their fitness accurately will probably be looking at a completely different range of devices. I've also customised the watch face to my satisfaction. I only mention this because a lot of reviews complained about lack of customisation. Maybe my expectations are set too low, but there are a number of watch faces and they each allow varying numbers of changes in appearance as well as information displayed. Maybe it's that I can't pick the specific colour, layout and info displayed that I'd like, but I'm not one to be picky about that sort of thing. The bottom line is, this is not a "cheap" purchase by any stretch of the imagination and I have no regrets at all in buying it. It looks classy (I just realised that I haven't even mentioned that aspect of it!), it feels comfortable to wear all day, I currently charge it once every 2 days (although it could probably stretch to 3) and I went and bought a loved one their very own the other day as a birthday present. If you're considering buying one and you own a Samsung phone that's compatible, it's a no brainer, honestly. The only decision should be whether to go with sport or classic and I'd highly recommend classic for the look alone.

Overpriced - but an excellent watch!
I love this watch! There are tons of reviews on the net, so have a good scout around before buying a smartwatch, the main reasons why I purchased it were: 1) Samsung compatibility (I have a Samsung S6 edge, but it should work on any android phone) 2) Apple watch was too expensive 3) Functionality of the watch 4) Ability to change the watch face (so far I have 121 to choose from, the only watch-face I paid for is on the attached image) 5) Easy to use alarms /stopwatch etc. 6) Ability to use it as a remote control for the camera (both stills and video) on the S6 (You even have a live preview on your watch-face) 7) Bluetooth works flawlessly 8) It's not huge 9) I love when you turn your wrist the time comes on and within seconds disappears (even though you can have the screen on all the time, reduced light to save battery power) 10) It's a very stylish watch - looks class! What I'm not crazy about: 1) When I connect to wi-fi at home, (360 Mb broadband) a message keeps coming up randomly stating I'm connected! This becomes irritating after a while, so I don't use or need it while I'm on bluetooth. 2) For all its wonders, I still think it's overpriced as most decent smartwatches are!

Good watch with a few minor issues.
To begin with, dont let the fact that this is the "older model" keep you away from this smartwatch. The main differences are battery life and size. For me the on this particular watch ill admit is a little small. The battery life gets me through the day and then some so it should last on a night out. The sleek black and silver design makes this watch one of my favorites and the rotating bezel (could be considered a little gimmicky) is useful for keeping prints off the screen. Being so shiny, it's definitely a fingerprint magnet but dont forget it can be washed off with water thanks to its IP68 rating. The software is quick and responsive and shouldn't slow you down a bit. Be aware that this watch dosen't come with a speaker so unlike the apple watch this dosent make a sound. Then again the vibrarion is pretty strong so its hard to ignore a notification. Overall i think the price of £200 is very fair when compared to other smartwaches and even the newer models. Thats a difference of £350 just for a larger battery and screen. Be cautious when buying smartwatches as some can cost more than then are worth. Its best to test one out in store rather than order online first. A cheaper recommendation would be the Moto 360.

Simple and sleek design, very good features and something I now can't live without
I've always been someone for gadgets and have been holding back from buying a smartwatch until they've become more established. I'm very pleased with this design, whilst you have to use Samsungs propriety Tizen OS it is very simple and responsive. I knew I would use the device a fair bit but have found myself lost without it. Very convenient to see what's happening on your phone without taking it out of your pocket, being able to quickly respond or defer notifications is a great feature also handy in meetings. You are restricted to using the Samsung app store, and whilst I was apprehensive of this at first I found that it had all the apps I really needed, after all if I want to browse the internet or play games I'm not going to really do it on a small screen. The keyboard is easy to use, you can't help feeling like a spy sometimes, but I would recommend checking out a full keyboard on the Samsung app store as that gives you qwerty function. The health tracking feature was surprisingly good, whilst I've never been bothered before I now find myself checking out what has happened in my day. The physical design is sleek and the rotating bezel is a solid and nifty way to navigate menus, for me this design was more like a proper watch than the standard addition especially when you can swap the straps to another of your choosing (standard watch fit). I expected to be happy with this product, but after a couple of weeks I can't live without it.

Great looking watch that does so much more
As with most I imagine I had a lot of fun toying with it initially. Constantly changing the faces etc. Now after having had it three weeks I am settling in to using/wearing it and it is great. As my phone has to be on silent at work the notifications to my watch are so useful. I can answer a call at my wrist but not speak or hear through my watch but at least I know who is calling, can answer and dash to my phone to speak. No I don't feel the need to be in constant contact I have two very poorly parents. Emails and texts are easy to read and respond to on your wrist and of course you can do so as long as you are within about 100yrds of your phone. The tracking is good, steps, sleep, pulse etc although not entirely sure how accurate it is, it is good enough for me. And guess what? If I tire of all the wizardry and gadgetry it is a very pretty, functional watch. Far better size for my small wrist than the S3.

Not just a 'gadget'.
Bought this as a 'gadget' but it far exceeds my expectations. Impressive in it's functionality and a nice compliment to my Galaxy and Tablet. Really like that it's a normal watch in size and shape for wearing every day. Also easy to change bands and any normal 20mm band will fit it. After a week of getting to know my S2 Classic and setting up various functions, I'm still impressed. It's a far more useful toy than I imagined. Apps are reasonably plentiful and cheap, not that many are needed because it comes with a good set pre-installed that link up happily with apps already on my phone. Watch faces come in an unlimited variety and many are free and though the quality varies somewhat I've found several that suit me. The biggest plus so far is that I find that I no longer have to keep fumbling for my mobile every time there's an app alert, I can screen alerts on the S2 and dismiss those that are not important.

Life "enhancing" but not life changing!
Ok had it for a while now and I have to say I love it. Its not some kind of quantum leap or life changing experience getting a SmartWatch but its the small things that make the big differences. Notifications are obviously awesome. No more missing alerts or messages and its also less distracting than your phone when in the car. Stick the phone in one of your cars boxes - glove compartment or whatever - then a quick flick of the wrist will tell you if you need to pull over to respond to your inbound message. (Drive safe kids!) Most of the apps appear to be more gimmicky than anything else but weather and calendar integration are useful. It is an attractive watch though which is one of the main points for me. Not to large, classic design and you can fit any strap you want to it. Overall recommended but don't expect it to change your life - only enhance it slightly!

Thiswatch was intended for the Romanian Market and is not ...
WARNING! This watch was intended for the Romanian Market and is not supplied with a UK mains adapter or Manual. I spent several anxious hours trying to get past the Romanian language menu to start my watch, for this reason I have given 4 stars. I realise that being sourced in this way has enabled the watch to be marketed below the UK price point, which is worthwhile and I have given a workaround guide if you have the same watch. On the plus side, the watch arrived 3 days early and in excellent condition. While it tracks health and announces messages, it does not appear to support voice calls and typing messages is limited to short cut messages such as ‘I will phone you later’. It is however a very nice product and very comfortable on the wrist with its choice of large or small, genuine leather straps. Workaround when receiving non UK versions: 1. Don’t panic! Obtain a two pin euro mains converter (Tesco and Asda have them for about £1) 2. Download the ‘Samsung Gear’ app from the Google Play store, follow the instructions and your Gear 2 should come to life! 3. Search YouTube for ‘Unboxing and setting up the Galaxy Gear 2 Classic’ (this is what I did first of all and thanks so much to You Tube). There are a range of free watch faces and apps to increase enjoyment and usefulness of your G2,
