Does not retain water
Compared to OEM original filter provided, this does not work. With tank full, cant get humidity above 40. OEM filter had not trouble maintaining at 50. Need to buy OEM, so 2 pack was a waste

Exactly like the ones I buy at the DYI store
This filters look exactly like the ones I've been buying at the DYI store when I purchases the humidifier. The only difference I can see is no outer box is included, just shipped in a bag inside a box. I can't tell any difference. I switch out every month and run 2 humidifiers from Nov thru April, so I go through a lot of filter I do add the humidifier water treatment that is designed to control mold, mildew, and decrease scale buildup. They are priced higher that what I currently pay. Thru the local store, each filter is about $21 (no tax) which makes a pair about $42. This pair is about $70. That's a $28 difference - a whole filter with money left over at the local store. As how they work in my humidifier - not issues at all. They arrived just as I was getting ready to change filters, so they are currently in both of my humidifiers. Truly, can't tell any difference. The deleted star: should not be this expensive.

Falls short of similarly priced options
I had this filter in for a little over two weeks before the "Check filter" warning came on. All was working well, I was getting humidity readings in the upper 40s to lower 50s, so I avoided checking into it for another week or so thinking it was just a false reading from the humidifier. When I opened it out of curiosity and after humidity readings were failing to reach the 40s, it looked as though it had already begun to lose it's structure. I referred back to the one I bought a little under a year ago and noticed that there isn't as many paper ruffles. I'm not sure if this is what caused the "Check filter" warning to come on, but it is the only difference I could make of the two of them. I turned the humidifier off for several days to dry the filter, and have refilled it recently allowing it to absorb fully before turning it on to see if this resolves the issue, will update after a week or two if it has resolved the issue.

These cost about the same as the wicks in the big box stores however these come to your door . I have had one in my humidifier for a few weeks and it is doing its job!
