Quality Flute for Beginners, Great Value
I recently got a Kmise Bamboo Flute Dizi, and for its price, I'm pretty impressed. It's my first time diving into playing an instrument like this, so I don't have much to compare it to. However, it didn't feel cheap or poorly made at all, despite the affordable cost. The sleeve it came with isn't the best quality, but that's a minor detail for me. I also bought a separate kit for membranes and glue, so I haven't used the ones that came with the flute yet. I'm still at the very beginning stages of learning—trying to figure out how to produce sound—so I can't comment on the sound quality just yet. But as for the flute itself, I'm really happy with this purchase.

This is a perfect entry level bamboo flute
This is a perfect entry level bamboo flute! It's has good build quality, looks very nice, plays and sounds great; provided you are able to play/figure it out, and make it sound great.I grabbed this without knowing anything about flutes or wind-instruments in general. A few youtube tutorials and inspirational vids and you should be able to figure it out in no time. Being able to play takes time, practice, time, and more practice! So do it, get good, and experience the immense satisfaction that comes from being able to make music.Again, great starting piece! If you already know how to play a bamboo flute, you may want to look into something of higher (and more expensive) quality since you should already be able to put notes together and blowing techniques for good songs. You'll want the better sounding bamboo flutes (which can be amazing).Care for it is very simple, and getting/applying the membranes is a simple enough task as well. Again, youtube and google is your friend for learning these things. It's all out there.

you get what you're paying for
it's a $20 flute that does flute things. it's not a toy and it looks cheap. Take the phrase "made in china" and apply it in the worst possible way. It smells like plastic and chemicals. I'm not sure whether it's laminated bamboo or just plain plastic with bamboo color on it. It's also hard to play. But come on, it's $20. student flutes are like $200 and professional flutes are easily >$1000. It's decently in tune and has the right holes drilled into it what more are you looking for?

Wonderful item! Unbelieveable value, why pay more when this item is fantastic?
The reviews were very helpful in deciding to purchase this dizi so I wish to add my voice as well: The flute arrived far ahead of its projected travel time and I checked its condition very carefully for cracks and the like, but nothing was amiss. The careful packaging helped ensure the item arrived in new condition. Since the fingering is so very close to the shinobue, I was playing a piece on it 10 minutes after holding it to my lips. Less than 24 hours later I could play 3 pieces, all Chinese. I must add that this is surprisingly well made for such an inexpensive purchase and I would certainly not hesitate to purchase another from this seller. Intonation is excellent, item is durable with care, as with most things. Extremely pleased with purchase. No instructions included as far as applying dimo but YouTube is a great help there. Recommended.

Damaged
The Dizi arrived pretty fast and with all the stuff it was supposed to come with, BUT the Mokong hole where you apply the Dimo had a crack that ran a few inches from one side across the hole to the other side a few inches i hope i explained that good enough for you but basically this crack in the flute not only looked bad and seemed to slowly get bigger but the Dimo could not serve its purpose because of it and it would after a few times of blowing into the flute would slpit its self across the crack and be ruined so i had to return it, anywho because of that and also i didnt care for the glue I ordered from a company that is actually in china making handmade good quality flutes and are way better than this one all around and it only cost 15 more bucks so WELL worth it! Just be weary if you looking for a good quality set and everything this prolly isnt for you if you dont care about quality and just wanna mess around I guess it could be ok for you!!

Exactly what I hoped for.
I bought this to very inexpensively see if I could create an embouchure for flute. And to see if I liked it. I got a good tone out of it and was very pleased. But, this is not for playing with other instruments because it is in the key of b flat which is fine as long as others have a chromatic instrument. Anyway, it’s a lovely instrument not tunable but can be played with others as long as they have a chromatic instrument. FYI two of my friends tried mine out and they got an even better sound, must be they have better lungs! This is really a fun instrument.

Glad I bought it, even though I can't play it
I can make an open note with it and so far that's it. Didn't know when I ordered it that you have to blow across a hole that's between the other holes like the guy in Jethro Tull as opposed to blowing in the end. This is hard to do, but I'm not sorry I bought it and I'm not giving up yet. If I can play the dizi then I should be able to play a flute, if not then I need not waste my money on a more expensive one. Besides, it looks really good. It's well made. And cheap. The tassel goes onto the only 2 holes on the bottom. As for the dimo (membrane): I'm just using Scotch tape until my playing skills improve, plus I understand you can moisten a garlic paper with garlic juice and use that. I may never really learn to play it, if I can make a sound and change the pitch with the holes that's plenty.
