Reinforced Trigger Switch Button for Dyson V11 V10 V15 Vacuum Cleaner Replacement Parts, Upgraded Power Button Repair Fix Tool

I was using my Dyson V11 the other day when the trigger started acting weird, I had to really squeeze the hell out of it to do anything, finally it wouldn’t engage the motor at all. I love this vacuum and use it daily just about, so I began searching when I found there is a known and common defect in the structural integrity of the OEM trigger. With a little video searching, I began to find content creators doing this repair with a newly designed and upgraded trigger with a reinforced area that was originally prone to breaking. I had to buy some very long and slender tamper-proof torx bits to completely disassemble the unit, but the trigger went in smoothly, and has been working longer than the original trigger had been, so I’d say I am very happy and glad I bought it!

By now, many Dyson owners know that unfortunately, Dyson has designed their cordless vacums with a substandard plastic trigger that will ultimately crack and fail after some period of use. This replacement trigger is much more substantial, fits and works perfectly in my V11 after installation. Patience is required to take the machine apart, install the new trigger and put it back together. Lots of good YouTube “how to” videos out there to help with the install.

Visually looking at the new trigger its beefer than the one Dyson put in. Fits perfectly. It does take a little time to replace. You have to take the entire unit apart but well worth a cheaper trigger over another few hundred dollar unit. Time will tell if it will outlast the stock piece but it looks like it will.

This saved our vacuum from ending up in the trash after the original trigger cracked. It wasn't the easiest to replace, but I'm not an expert either. It's been a year, and we're still using the vacuum with the new trigger.

I’m a very capable handyman and even for me this was a bit of a tedious install. Took about 45 minutes. It’s definitely worth the DIY if you have a long handled T8, T9, and #1 Phillips screwdriver. Plenty of YouTube videos on how to install. I love that it’s reinforced where millions of these have failed. Very mad Dyson hasn’t fixed their design or offered replacements after selling billions of dollars of these vaccums.

You need to ream out the holes with a drill-bit that matches the original switch's holes, otherwise it will not pivot loosely like the original switch does. I appreciate that this switch has more plastic in the area, where it cracks. Dyson should be doing this, but having a designed fail point in the worst place to get to, probably ensures people buy more Dysons to replace what is a simple repair. My wife was ready to order another Dyson Vacuum, when I said let me fix the switch instead. So don't be intimidated. You can fix it. There's a ton of YouTube videos on how to fix it. Be sure to get the long Phillips screwedriver and the long T8 Torx screwdriver too.
