At Sentab, we were looking for new ways to connect older generation with younger one and started developing video calling device that would work on one's TV. Audio is terrible
I purchased two of these so we could video chat with our pregnant daughter through our big screen TVs. My first thought was to set up something with Skype, but after a bit of research it appears that Skype does not support TV based applications anymore. Sentab provides out-of-the box ease of use. It was easy to set up. However, the execution leaves something to be desired.First of all, the app capability of the device beyond video chat seems very limited and dated, with no apparent updates. It's almost like looking at something that the company has given up on and doesn't support anymore.The video portion of a call is not great, but acceptable. The audio portion is horrible. Very laggy. Plus, it sounds like you are talking underwater with various bleeps and bloops in the background. I did a cursory search to see if there is any way to solve this and couldn't find anything. I have not contacted the company yet, though. If it gets better, I'll update this review, but given my comments in the paragraph above, I'm not hopeful.If I had to do it over again, I'd search for a different way to video call on the TV.

The device came preloaded with Kodi, a web browser and PlutoTV. The picture quality on the PlutoTV app is fantastic. The setup of the device required a download of the Sentab app and creating an account. I alson installed MLB @bat and hulu. Everything worked flawlessly. I was able to create and join video conference calls between the device and my iPhone and Android phone. Box is super responsive.

Excellent personal customer service
Excellent personal customer service. The box is not as simple to use, however. My mother is half blind and this has presented a problem. I am also not nearby so it complicates matters even more. Other than that, great invention. Still needs improvement on data speed and sound synchronicity but at least I can communicate with my mother visually.

This is a truly awesome product. This has allowed me to connect with both my “Baby-Boom” parents and their parents. In other words, when either generation is watching Matlock at a Metallica volume level, and you want to talk with them, they get a pop-up saying “hey, I wanna chat”. They get you in their living room. One click, and you are in their living room. Well-thought out, user-friendly, design by purpose that a 92 year old can use.

It worked for a month and then stopped. Sentab said they had to do an update to make it compatible with an LG tv. 3 months later it still doesn’t work.

Super easy!
This is very easy to setup and use. The HDMi pass thru feature works great. Video quality does vary based on internet speed and a wired network connection works best for me.

Trouble getting camera to be recognized by unit
Ordered three and have received two that have been set up. One will not detect the camera, even tried a better c920 webcam and it also would not work with the box. In both cameras the mic is part of the unit and both mic's worked fine. Will try a reset of the unit and if that does not work will return it and try a replacement. Will update my review if I can get all three units to work.Update 2/18/2018Both cameras are now working. Did a disconnect/reconnect of power plug that seemed to be what was needed. The only issue now is the audio feedback we are receiving between the two connections. One observation is that if your flat screen is large you may want to go into the settings on the home screen and reduce the effective screen size as this will give a better video appearance. I have found the included ir remote to be marginal due to its limited range in a living room setting. Will update again if I can find a solution to the audio feedback problem. Only upgraded this rating to four stars due to this problem.
