The Seduction of Miss Amelia Bell (The MacGregors: Highland Heirs Book 1)

Good start to a new series
This had to be the steamiest Paula Quinn book I have ever read - and I've read them all! I am not complaining - the hotter the better in my opinion But this was not what I am used to from this author. Either that or it's been way too long since I last read one of her booksEdmund was great, I remember him as a boy in his parents book (Conquered by a Highlander) and I loved him in that book. In a way seeing him grown up and falling in love was hard for me. It was almost like reading about one of my friends kids love life - awkward!! I have read many family saga series and never felt this way before about a character - so kudos to Ms Quinn for writing a character that stayed with me for so long!Anyway! Edmund was wonderful He is brave, loyal and well, just about perfect! Amelia...not so much, I did like her and admired her loyalty to her father and to Sarah. But let's get real - she was way too wishy washy and I didn't like the way she acted once her uncle and father showed up. Her actions made me lose what little respect I had for her. She didn't deserve Edmund. But to be fair, she thought her actions were justified because she loved him so much - she thought she was saving him (not how I saw it - but I realize that was the way the author intended it to seem). There is a nice little side romance with Lucen and Sarah. And the hint of a brewing romance between Darach and Janet Buchanan (that is a story I want to read!)As always Ms Quinn's writing is wonderful. She paints a picture with words, her story flows and her characters touch you.

Who doesn't love the MacGregors?
I have read every book about the MacGregors, and once again Paula Quinn does an amazing job. There is such a depth to her characters that you feel like you know them. As always, the men of MacGregor are fighting fiercely for the beliefs that they hold dear, their family and their faith. Even though Edmund isn't a MacGregor by birth, he is at heart. I always enjoy the interplay between the cousins and siblings in the family. This book continues with those same interactions, hopefully giving a few hints of things to come with the youngest. My only disappointment was that I wanted more time with the parents of all the cousins. Overall, another amazing story by Paula Quinn.

Great start to series!
Exciting Historical Scottish romance with a great hero in Edmund and a wonderful heroine in Amelia. Great secondary characters as well which I'm sure get their share of adventure in future Highland Heirs books. Set in the historical context of the English fighting to control Scotland, the son of Colin MacGregor and Gillian from the novel Conquered by a Highlander, finds adventure and romance while trying to stop a treaty from being signed. There is passion, intrigue, adventure, romance and humor all woven together to make this first in the series very entertaining. I am eager to continue on to the next book,

I LOVED IT!
This book shouldn't be called The Seduction of Miss Amelia Bell. This Should be called 'A guide of how to treat and love a woman by the McGregor men.'This book made me wish the entire plane was Scotland because we -women- deserve and need a highlander like the McGregors.Edmund kidnapped Amelia for ransom to keep Scotland safe from the British, but what he did not plan was to fall in love with her.I really love this book, the writing was great. The Characters were all likable. Grendel (the dog) was my favorite. If historical romance if your genre than this book is for you!

Good story line, just a bit too long.
Started out really well, flowed nicely, excellent writing skills. Kept my interest, until about the last 10 chapters. It got a bit tedious at tht point. Just should have ended with them escaping and discovering an empty castle. Had a hard time finishing it, starting skipping to get through the it. But pretty good, altogether.

This story was full of adventure and passion. Mixed in with a bit of humor. All the makings of a great story. Paula Quinn is a great story teller, it feels as if you are a part of the story and you can't put it down. Can't go wrong with this author. Enjoy.

The Seduction of Amelia Bell and the Reader!
Wonderful start to a new series by Paula Quinn. Likeable characters and a good plot make for a winner. Rich in story this author is able to bring back old, beloved characters from her previous works without literally retelling their story and detracting from the story at hand, THANK YOU! Nice romance that gives a historical feel in the details of it's telling rather than inundating the reader with dry facts. Once again Paul Quinn has a hit!

Another good read from mrs.Quinn
I loved T.S.O.M.B! It had been awhile since reading the last highlander series. The book was written as to where you could easily catch up. I really like how there is a list of names and there involvement in the begging of the book. I read Edmunds story in four nights! It was romantic, I loved the fighting highlanders! Id recommended this book for any one that enjoys a good historical romance.
